Environment, Food, Leisure - The Department has the following functions:
blah, blah, blah...
to monitor and protect tree health as far as possible and maintain the woodland environment and character of the countryside by rigorously enforcing Tree Preservation legislation as regards private felling and arboricultural operations;

You would automatically think where plans are submitted to fell trees that the department would be involved as a matter of course?

What is the exact reason for removal? I’ve seen the kick off over Facebook but I can’t see it being allowed to be removed just for the sake of it. Is it possibly a height clearance issue?

Along the likes of Patrick road is similar in a large vehicle, lots of funny shaped trees with some of it growing almost downwards into the roadway.

Someone wants a driveway. Someone knows someone, nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

I went and had a nose at this.

The above is slightly misleading in relation to Malew Commissioners.   They didn't fail to object.  Like it was missed.  They saw it and supported it.

It also looks like a lot of work has gone into it in relation to planting of new trees etc.

Clearly because it's Barrowman people will immediately start whining and nudge nudge wink winking but it appears that every man and his dog has had their tuppence worth on this one.

Why couldn't or didn't the Wildlife Trust object? Are they not recognised?
