  1. As soon as Government became involved it was always going to go to hell ! I can't think of one thing Governments become involved in, which becomes more efficient and cheaper for consumers.
  2. I agree, what can you expect from a taxpayers investment of what 300 million quid !
  3. I can certainly say that going out wednesday after TT and coming back a month later is eye watering ! Over £700.00 quid. Car and two.
  4. Hooper and Social media is great, people think he's a tool and lo he proves it time after time ! He cannot resist comment, perhaps he should get on with sorting out his day job, the shambolic health service !
  5. I thought we already had ! LOL.
  6. News to me we've actually got a policy, just seems to be one crisis after another with reactionary Government.

    Period Poverty

This shouldn't even be cause for debate. No woman should ever be embarrassed through poverty, and no schoolgirl for the reasons Rachomics set out.A normal small jurisdiction ( i.e. one that wasn't skint through profligacy and incompetence ) should be able to fund such a scheme without batting an eyelid. How it was targeted should be the debate, not whether it is right ! Maybe Joney could get a supermarket chain to assist.
  8. If like other advisors or NED posts they'll have to be ones they like, not ones who tell them what they don't want to hear !
  9. It looked run down then, it just looks worse now !
  10. Probably doable at usual IOM Gov speeds !
  11. I see in the timeline that planning seems to be a done deal whereas other things can take years of wrangling ! The whole project has a smell about it, and I don't refer in that to any environmental or planetary concerns of which I share many.
  12. No idea, but the argument was about how busy Douglas Road was and how to sort traffic at the Whitestone. We sorted it with 400 houses and a half assed bypass.
  13. Well the problems that morning were certainly the amount of traffic coming from what I imagine is Ballabeg, Colby and maybe even Port Erin, via the Poachers Pocket. If the bypass was truly meant to bypass the village then it won't work. What it did bypass was the intellect of the local MHK and the foresight to see the effects of 400 houses ! Apologies, just realised I used the word intellect to describe the cerebral state of the said MHK at the time !
  14. Ahh but the plan is to dig a trench on the rotational arc !
  15. This morning for the first time in a long time, I was in the rush hour traffic at about 0840 at the Whitestone roundabout going towards Douglas. There was a large amount of traffic coming from the direction of the Old Bakery shop and turning left up Douglas Road, the traffic was moving fine but was nose to tail all the way up Douglas Road. What I still don't get is how they are going to persuade people not to turn left up Douglas Road, but to drive on towards Balthane to join the bypass, to end up at the same point at the top of the bypass as the left turn ! Still seems a nonsense to me. However it did get 400 houses built to make someone huge profits !
