  2. Looking at her prices, it’s extortion. Just kidding. IoM factor that you pay a vast multiple for stuff that costs pennies here. Sadly.
  3. You also smoked asbestos cigarettes and worked 25 hours a day down the mines. Kids these days ey….
  4. Or they just leave, like the ones that already have. We're losing licencees to other jurisdictions now, like Anjouan, and I think the IOM glory years are coming to an end very soon.
  5. More unwell than many think apparently. https://www.thedailybeast.com/king-charles-funeral-plans-dusted-off-as-his-health-remains-a-mystery
  6. Don't even think about posting that picture. This is a family forum.
  7. SaVile Anyroads, kids these days are wusses. Would have taken us five minutes and those camera would have been shoved down the shitter.
  8. It's been good for the island for over twenty years. And which industry is? I'd argue there is more dodginess in finance and banking than there is in gambling.
  9. We did all sorts of shit in school. Pranks, fights, etc. We were just lucky Facebook and tiktok didn't exist yet, and we also knew where the line was. Apart from maybe one or two school screw ups who couldn't be helped.
  10. Malta now has a rep as being slow and difficult to deal with. They’re their own worst enemies. New jurisdictions of convenience are popping up fast right now to take the place or Curacao who also screwed up. IoM needs to be really careful how they treat the sector. It’s very expensive to put a gaming company here. It has to be worth it and that value proposition feels wonky to me right now.

Well yes, clickbait ragebait content always works, but that's not journalism.

Last I saw he’s in Australia or thereabouts living it up. Good on him. No money or reward in local news on the island.
  13. 'Appalling' 75% reduction in waste disposal at Southern Civic Amenity Site Users can now deposit 100kg of waste per month rather than per week https://archive.is/wHPWU#selection-399.0-405.67 First question I would ask is how they monitor this.

    TT 2024

Never gonna happen. Must be nice to live in a work environment where incompetence has no consequences.
  16. Good. Doesn’t change the fact nobody was held responsible for screwing up the previous arrangement and the whole Cube debacle.
  17. Oh darling, do fuck off.
  18. Josem surely must be the worst value for money lobbyist in the history of the island.
  19. Could be worse. Like this beauty that appeared here today. Note the total lack of any safety perimeter. If this was the IoM there would have been three fire trucks, five cop cars, a dozen DoI workers and probably an ambulance on standby. Here it’s your fault if you’re dumb enough to get so close you fall in and it’s gonna be fixed in the morning anyway.

    TT 2024

IOMG should have started to look at park and shuttle solutions years ago, especially as they’re apparently trying to grow the event. Car park was at capacity all the time already. Meetings with them are always fun when they go huff and puff until you point out they should have done certain things years ago. Looking at a certain minister here. I love the TT but man, sometimes you wonder how the event lasted this long.

    TT 2024

The St Ninian's gate did indeed not have planning permission, despite the department having been told they need to obtain it well in advance (I was in the meeting where they were told, in the council chamber). Access will be widened past talk of the town. As much as you are obviously wishing for a bad news story, no gardens or play areas will be destroyed. The widening is something like half a meter and that's enough. Of course you also know that there was an application to put a gate in at the bottom between St Ninian's and the ToTT entrance, but planning turned it down. Plus, in future cars won't be allowed to park in the field anymore anyway, except those who have business in Nobles during TT (workers, etc) and disabled parking. Motorbikes will still be allowed. I'm sure you will support this, seeing as you're so much in favour of protecting rate born facilities and that the fields are damaged every year by cars driving around and parking there.
