  15. At some point I will be at every club in Douglas during the course of the night! But I won't be inside any of them!
  16. Now I know why I'm struggling to make a living - hardly anyone seems to have met me in my cab!
  17. My better half remembers Ken Sutton, Wally Callister and Mr Gale - all previously mentioned. She also remembers being taught biology by Mrs Pickard, English by Mr Mercer and French by Mrs Brown. Please don't try to guess her age from this information - she won't appreciate it!
  18. That would, I think, be the late 'Jakey Hogg.' He taught maths at St Ninian's when I was there and I was supposed to go to the staff room for 3 of the best from him at lunchtime (difficult, as I caught the bus home for lunch) and I managed to avoid it with a variety of excuses for the last 2 or 3 weeks of the term and, the next term, he was off ill.
  19. I never knew his real name - everyone called him that in my day, but he was an excellent teacher with a very strong Manx accent. I can remember at least one lesson where he made each of us try a couple of minutes of stand-up comedy in front of the rest of the class. He was, though, a disciplinarian, and everyone knew better than to try to take advantage of his good nature!
