  1. I have to confess that I don't always read your blog right away, Tom (although I usually catch up with it when I've time to spare) but, as soon as I go onto the Forums, I check to see if you've written anything. It's a way of seeing that you're still there, still fighting and, as everyone hopes, winning. Please keep making entries when you can. Believe it or not, they mean almost as much to your readers as you say that they do to you! Best wishes, Lonan3
  2. I met damesaflame yesterday. A delightful lady as well as an excellent broadcaster.
  3. Don't forget the cost of the extra cones to block off the bits that we're not supposed to be driving over (even if it makes sense to!)
  4. Purely out of boredom Bee Gees (Recognise anyone?)
  5. First out of the hat I suppose. I'd guess the "Escape The Script" bloke was John Wark. I just can't see Bobby "Greek God" Moore playing ruggers. Nope.
  6. A couple for the weekend: 1. Name nine England internationals who have each played in 3 world cup finals tournaments. 2. Which former captain of England Schools Rugby team, played football for his country and appeared in the movie ‘Escape To Victory’?
  7. Seems self-explanatory, really.
  8. I think that was Southampton striker Ron Davies (37 league goals for Southampton during the 1966-67 season still hasn't been bettered by anyone in the top flight since).
  9. The answer is correct. (I admit to cheating with New Brighton Tower - but Chesterfield Town resigned in 1909) New Brighton and New Brighton Tower were different teams. Chesterfield Town - Here & Here. say they weren't re-elected in 1909. My apologies, Declan (and anyone else who was confused by it). My information also came from The Pyramid info. I've checked with other sites and you are correct.
  10. The answer is correct. (I admit to cheating with New Brighton Tower - but Chesterfield Town resigned in 1909)

  17. Billy Wright (William) (first captained England in 1948), Mick Mills (1978), Billy (William) Walker (1925), Frank Forman (1902). P.S. Kevin Keegan is actually Joseph Kevin Keegan, while Tony Adams is Tony (not Anthony) Adams.
  18. In between rounds, another trivia question.... Which league club had the first all seater stadium in England?
  19. Spot on! [P.S. Fascinating character ]
  20. Walter Tull played for Tottingham That's right - but it's not the answer to the question.
