She'll not have far to visit him if the case is proven either....
  2. A coffee shop then 🙄
  3. There's a few nuggets in here from the report that @Moghrey Mie was good enough to post including a requirement for CAPEX funding which must be a difficult subject right now; Covid raises its excuse-laden head again too. One senses that this is not a priority now and is a can that can bounce a bit further down the road yet.
  4. A year passes, people stand down and are replaced. Progress?

A prospective airline owner from The Bretney, Jurby....
  6. It's a start; much more is needed but at least it's the beginnings of some sort of "opposition" to hold the executive to account. But it needs to be more than what's left of one term, it needs to be a permanent establishment within our political system. It is what is lacking when a system is comprised of 24 individuals elected on a personality basis with policy then being devised by one of them who is voted in as CM by the other 23. The whole system is currently a farce.
  7. I had some "interaction" with the visa dept last year, it appears to be staffed with new cs recruits who spend most of their time contradicting each other when dealing with enquiries. Not good.
  8. And undoubtedly drawn from ex-DOI mates of the current TC. If the headcount of those in there earning £75k+ can be increased from 2 to 5 without any full democratic sanction from the Board in less than 18 months (info from a serving Commissioner) then obviously it's a free trough, snouts in lads. RTC is a microcosm of the rest of the Island's cart-before-the-horse PS. Expand it with questionable positions that are/were never previously required or fully justified and then look for ways to fund it and justify it. And the funding as always comes in the form of increased taxation/Rates demands.
  9. My heart bleeds for each and every one of the cosseted snowflakes. Stress and emotional harm, my arse. Is there any end to the molly-coddling of our PS?
  10. It matters not. They're proposing to close it for the relevant games, subject to consultation with the Police 'twould appear....(3FM News)
  11. As previously, it's a DCC initiative that was announced nearly 2 months ago to cover all sorts of events over the next 12 months
  12. Plus all the other closures for events that they announced mid-March anyway.
  13. You WILL use the NCAS, you naughty renegade Bride residents...
  14. Agreed. Doctors are under pressure to clear their appointments daily and also perhaps have thoughts of litigation hanging over them too so the "easiest" solution is to issue the sicknote for whatever the complaint is (plus meds as well perhaps) even if the complaint has no obvious manifestation. One financial solution perhaps, apart from changing doctor's working conditions and society's attitude, is to reduce the sick pay period to 3 months + 3 months. Good luck with getting that past the unions.
  15. The Bradford Scale certainly exists but as with any PS ultimate disciplinary measures, it may be that getting it applied/used is a different matter....
  16. Quelle surprise, a tardiness to implement something that meant a reduction in VAT. But, but, but it's 28% of our income...
  17. There has been an expansion policy in Ramsey Town Hall ever since the Authority election of 2015 when the strict democratically-controlled financial discipline that RTC was admired for became a thing of the past. Increased prosperity is only about one thing and that's funding the administrative bloat. I know at least two current Commissioners who are also of this opinion but reckon that the Board appear to be able to do nothing about it.
  18. Just for shits and giggles...
  19. Hear hear. Parking charges for MHKs and their CS masters should cover it island-wide quite easily.
  20. Paging @Banker and a set of net curtains...
  21. Regardless of context, I don't feel that she should be making that sort of retort. Particularly when it's towards a businessperson whose BUSINESS RATES are contributing towards the Town Hall empire that she and her colleagues appear to be unable to monitor, let alone control.
  22. Village halls got bigger to match egos and ambitions.
