  1. I would agree here. There’s too much focus on the CM. He’s just the figurehead for most of this madness. The real issue is in the deep dark depths of the real unelected - the inhabitants of Cabinet Office.
  2. What would two more fictional characters add to this thread?
  3. They’ve just written a cheque for £40 Billion to fund furlough through to next March. Yet they dont actually believe in any of it.
  4. Scotty isn’t that good at giving character references sadly. It could have been worse. You could have been a “lovable rogue”
  5. FFS more “key workers” this again is taking the absolute piss if true.
  6. You’re going to have the capacity to generate much more crap over their then Derek.
  7. That really is taking the piss. I’m getting sick and tired of total mental cases driving the agenda here now. I can see some Manx people handing back their Manx passports at this rate. What did the land of your birth do for you in the covid crisis of 2020 fellow Manxie ....... absolutely fuck all but told me and my unclean body and ways to stay the fuck away from my family and friends like a fucking leper.
  8. The images of the married lover search at the bottom though are quite perplexing!
  9. An 1886 restaurant? That’s just what’s needed. A restaurant where you can go for an unrequested scrap with an angry coke-head! Sounds like the perfect franchise idea and export to Ramsey!
  10. The posters name is Scotty TSE you seem to be confused 😉 I wonder what you post in bad faith 😂
  11. You seem to be quite an authority on the matter.
  12. Not at all I was relaying a conversation I’ve had with a few people in DFs position recently. House has been on the market for ages weird buying activity picks up in a part of the market that’s been flat for years and you can’t see them for dust off the IOM for various family reasons linked largely to restrictions on keeping in touch with off island family and friends. Little was speculation.
  13. I’m just saying I’ve spoken to several people in the same position and that seems to be the common theme. They’ve finally got an offer on their house after years of no virtually interest and they just want to be with family and feel aggrieved at being separately from them. We are the only island banning family visits. We even turn down 30% of compassionate visits. It’s cruel and unnecessary and it’s pissed off more people than you think especially when their family was born here in a lot of cases.
  14. The main driver of people I’ve spoken to in this position is the ban on relatives coming here. Unlike Jersey or Guernsey it’s regarded as being cruel stopping family visits even if they’re prepared to self isolate. Many I suppose are in DFs position that if your kids can’t come across to see you (even if they were born here) there’s no real benefit in being here anymore so if you can now sell that house you’ve had on the market for ages they’re off!
  15. The restrictions on members of your own family coming here to see you and the restrictions on moving between here and the UK when you have family on both sides. It seems to be seeing quite a few people like Derek off now that there seems to be actual demand to buy their £500k plus houses which they haven’t been able to sell for years until now.
  16. Quite a few house sales in his price bracket seem to be the same. People selling up and moving back because of the restrictions and because for the first time in many years there’s demand to take their houses off their hands in that price bracket.
  17. Not these days https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8909603/Perth-Mayor-Basil-Zempilas-undergo-transgender-awareness-training-controversial-comments.html
  18. Great research. Hygiene was still a lot worse back then and most of them would probably have been shite-arses as well as malnourished by today’s standard which would have had a significant impact on mortality I’d guess.
  19. If you were a Richard you’d probably have been regarded as “a being bit of a dick”. How much do you think is attributed to you being female when it seems that the most nuts ones in the DHSC management chain also seem to be female. They only seem to have got Ashford to fire the bullet on this occasion.
  20. I’m not sure where they would have bought hand sanitizer or disposable masks in 1918 either. But at least bog roll hadn’t been invented so they wouldn’t have to stockpile that! That said I’m guessing disease is going to transmit very effectively around a population that couldn’t even wipe their own arses properly!
  21. That’s exactly as I meant it. I’m not hissingsid!
  22. She does. She seems to be a right stroppy bint. But I’m not saying that’s negative either. Just probably another factor in why it escalated how it did.
  23. I didn't say I disapproved of her tactics. I said it was bloody obvious how it was all going to end weeks ago and that she wasn’t ever going to win. Even whatever next move she makes makes she won’t win. That letter act was a shitty trick but that’s nothing really given what some are capable of.
  24. It was undignified to slug it out in the public domain like that but to be honest most people could see the likely outcome of her Tweeting weeks ago. She was always going to lose and it was only ever going to go one way as she seems to have a bit of an attitude and we all know how monstrous some of the egos are inside the DHSC are so whatever she did they were always going to go one better just to spread more shit around.
