Again, my words are being twisted here - I have never said that some CPA trips are not funded by the Manx Taxpayer, but there are many things that are covered and payed for by the CPA Head office in London, but it does depend on the event etc. The Annual Fee paid to the CPA comes out of the Clerk of Tynwald's Budget, which comes from Treasury, which comes from taxes and income etc.

I cant speak for any other Tynwald members, but any mail I send out from the office is invoiced and I pay amount at the end of the month….I have done that for the last six or seven years, it’s far easier than buying stamps every month. To be fair, I probably sent out more letters than most members, and that is the reason why I feel it’s only fair that I pay for the postage.

2112 - happy to explain why I posted a comment on line about Bonds Restaurant in Onchan, especially when I’m fully aware that people are continuing to struggle in the cost of living crisis…. Firstly I was given the great privilege of actually opening the restaurant back in 2017/18, so I’m fully aware of the struggles of getting the place open at the time. As one of the local MHK‘s I am happy to support and promote all businesses within the constituency. Secondly, on Friday evening when we were in the restaurant we noticed there were not many other people dining that night. I don’t know if that was just a quiet night or if that was a typical evening in the restaurant, but I didn’t feel it reflected the excellent level of service and the quality of food. I have a reasonably good following on social media, so why not use that influence to help promote a business within my own constituency, especially when I feel it is well deserved. I hope you have a great Christmas.

Unfortunately, my Tynwald colleague Stu Peters is correct when he says the matter is still sub judice, and it is likely to be for several more weeks. That said, I think the Manx public have a right to know the full and final cost for these proceedings.

No, that isn't correct - even with applying a 30% increase the MUA will have absorb some significant costs to shield customers in 2022/23, but the final figure will be based on natural gas market rate over the next 12 months….

I was simply saying is that the M & A’s and the Articles of a Company can be amended…. and some of the clauses within those documents already filed at the registry will be amended (subject to members approval) once I’ve had an opportunity to speak to the directors of IOMTTMA and the relevant documents have been drafted for consideration….

As I mentioned on social media the other day the new M & A’s and Articles filed the Isle of Man companies registry in respect of the new structure will now be amended…… and will not be the documents going before the members for consideration at the next EGM…..

I’m simply giving you the facts as I know them, and as I mentioned previously I will be working closely with the Isle of Man TT marshals association over the next couple of weeks, in order to fully understand what they’re trying to achieve….

I didn’t attend the meeting last night because I wasn’t invited or asked….

Just for clarity, I was only made aware of the new IOMTTMA structure, along with the new M&A’s and Articles last Saturday morning. The structure did have a proposal for two initial members, and I can’t remember publicly denying that anywhere, especially when I only discovered that information myself last weekend. However, once I noticed this proposal I did raise my concerns with the DfE Minister and the Department. I then spent a considerable amount of time over the weekend trying to fully understand what other documents were being presented to the IOMTTMA members at the meeting which I believe was held last night. Now that the meeting has been adjourned I will be scheduling a meeting with the IOMTTMA, in order to fully understand what the club is trying to achieve. Thereafter I will help the directors and the association in order to ensure that the next EGM is called correctly and all members have access to all the relevant paperwork in advance of that meeting.

The public consultation around the TT scoreboard was fine and we have definitely listened to all the views submitted…. The main issue at the moment is trying to get treasury to support our funding application, which has been very difficult.

According to the data, the islands tourism sector is extremely busy in June, July & August….. our focus is around starting the season earlier and extended it beyond September

The Scoreboard isnt dead in the water - plans have been drafted, but Treasury asked for a stronger business case..... This means that we have to look at some alternative options for 2022, but the new scoreboard should be in place for the 2023 event. Personally, I would like to see those plans in the public domain as soon as possible. As for the Poker Stars Rally I managed to watch two stages - a great event for the island's tourism calendar

sorry but that simply isn’t true.... I was appointed the Children’s Champion in June 2020 and my annual report was drafted and sent to the Chief Minister in accordance with Section 7 of the terms of reference on 9th July 2021

As a member of the House of Keys I am very concerned to hear of additional demand potentially being put on the food bank over the summer holidays. Although I am the Children’s Champion, this is outside that role, which is focused on children in care or where the government is the corporate parent. That is one of the reasons why I will be asking the next Chief Minister in October to appoint a Children’s Commissioner, which would be focussed on listening and giving all children on the Isle of Man a voice. In respect of the food bank, I really think we need to get some core data from Neal Mellon, in order to truly identify why people are approaching the food bank at certain parts of the year. Any individual constituent that contacts me directly I can try to help directly, but if there is a wider issue then we do need to understand the reason.

Personally I think the question has good merit, because it relates to homelessness on the Isle of Man. If someone was “sofa surfing” at your property on Census Night, then they were considered to be part of your family or household, which cannot be right.... We need a genuine picture of homelessness on the Isle of Man. Unfortunately, the cabinet office refused to add any questions to the 2021 Census about homelessness on the Island despite this particular point being raised by several charities.

Happy to confirm that I haven’t been sacked from any Government Department or as the Children’s Champion to the best of my knowledge, and I certainly haven’t received any flower so far..... Neither have I resigned as a Member of the House of Keys. Given the fact that I have just an extended DBS check signed off and approved, I will give the individual an opportunity to remove the “murky past” comment before taking some legal advise...
