  1. Oh my heart breaks for them, that's so hard to listen to. I have children and pfhuufff no, unimaginable.
  2. This thread really is MF at its best, highly amused, thanks I thought it was about a bird, then a wizard... but it is very early in the morning.
  3. They didn’t tell me when they moved from Victory House but they have written to me to tell me they’re closing a branch nowhere near where I live… Fablassss
  4. What’s the difference between a recreational and vocational drug?
  5. Well, when you put it like that Fred 🤦‍♀️ in some ways society has progressed, not so much in others, I have to agree.
  6. Clap clinic? Hahahah maybe in the 70’s but thankfully society has progressed a lot since then, kids be kids innit? The reactions are a telling sign of how far removed from that era we are now. There is no stigmatization in visiting a sexual health clinic, surely it’s a hugely positive thing that people are self aware enough to take on such personal responsibility. I’ll never forget the aids advert from the 80’s where someone goes ‘home’ with someone and then there’s the vision of all the people that person had previously been with… quite a huge consideration, when you think about it.
  7. Manx Care is like any other business, when there are effective people in admin and clinical roles, great things can happen and often do. I was in and out of A&E with the mini hippy #2 within 2 hours last week and everyone I had contact with was ace!
  8. No, I don't listen to podcasts, (well...sometimes I do, but only Darknet Diaries and Stephen Fry things).
  9. It’s attention seeking behaviour, he’s not the first and won’t be the last. On the plus side, there is no such thing as bad publicity- all the millions of people who listen to his pod cast will have a new found curiosity of the Isle of Man - thanks Frank 😂
  10. Did the man make a complaint about the woman? If so, it will (no doubt) be investigated and dealt with by the police etc (and so it should). Sounds like the guy did go a bit too far and could have reacted in a less manic manner.
  11. One time, I was at a Rovo gig, someone called my name - imagine that, silly old me being called out in London... it was Mark - there is nothing about this man that I do not like, his music is a reflection of his person - huge!
  12. My teacher connection (the born and bred one that failed to get a job here...) has just accepted a deputy head job at the tender age of 31 - So long IOM, your loss - seriously. The example lessons I remember were along the lines of, when doing creative writing imagine a box, put all of the things you connect with the subject in that box, pull one out at a time, describe that thing, the feel, the smell, the memory, the blah - ace! Another memorable one was a group task of making paper planes to teach about the recovery from the great depression (Ford, assembly line, growth, etc.), well received by the most challenging of students. Such a great teacher, one who genuinely cares about how the children in her care do. The Isle of Man could and should be a center of excellent education, we are small and do not have half the social problems the UK is faced with. The problem seems to be that no one cares how bad things are.
  13. Personal responsibility needs to happen. Know when to say "No!". If you don't want someone watching your kids swimming, don't go running to the police, sort it - go and talk to someone at the venue, all of these places have people with safeguarding training who know how to deal with that kind of thing. We're all too busy running to the police, their hands are tied unless there is criminal intent - watching kids swimming is nothing more than "watching kids swimming", not a crime and really? Not even pervy - some people get pleasure from watching kids enjoy themselves (and not in a sexual way) I do, I love seeing happy children and for me it's definitely a simple "nice thing". Anyone can be a sex offender, its such an easy label but it causes so many problems. Men and women can misjudge a situation, which can land them with a whole load of baggage, regardless of whether they're the victim or the accused - I give this lots of thought, you've got predators & malicious/manipulative people, its massive, but its never as simple as it seems. I'm confident that clubs/societies do their best to ensure the safety of people in their care but there are deviants that slip through the net, this is where personal responsibility comes into play,
  14. How do you even kill zombies? They’re already dead, this is serious we need a select committee to investigate immediately!
  15. Surely if their head comes off, it would be pointless to shoot them, with any kind of bullets let alone magic ones, they need to save them for other important spec ops…
