  1. Looking for a quickie solution as Iom passports take a long time these days. Thank you . Without EU restrictions I can’t really see there being a difference between the two these days.
  2. Thank you so much for the detailed reply, I did check it out online but the uk bit seemed to rule it out. Yes, a Manx passport could cause issues too. Really helpful.
  3. Thank you for your input. It’s for my husband who is British but not born in GB. Has held a Manx passport for decades. It would be easier to renew in uk, although not resident there. Bit complex. Did you have claim to uk connection?
  4. Hope it’s ok to vary topic slightly. If someone has been the holder of an IOM passport fro some years, can they renew with uk passport authority if they choose?
  5. It begins to look like bloodymindedness. Even if it's not. And then the further insult of not allowing the plebs even a tiny indication of what is going on.
  6. https://www.iomtoday.co.im/news/unclear-records-at-isle-of-man-childrens-home-after-child-told-staff-theyd-been-having-sex-for-money-643147
  7. So true. Weather is constantly dramatised. The island has always had bouts of severe weather. People were able to cope without internet even! But the girls did the right thing.
  8. Yes, perhaps the planned wind farms might just generate enough to power a few e vehicles.
  9. You are not including the add ons such as the acquisition of the batteries, I presume? Could you provide more information regarding the basis for your statement?
  10. So what is powering most e vehicles on the island? Fossil fuels!
  11. Of course it's both. But also interesting to observe the deadly silence on this topic. It's ok. It's somewhere else? We can virtue signal with our e vehicles and proclaim how we are protecting the planet. People don't seem to matter. There is no end of propaganda regarding electric vehicles but no one seems inclined to respond to a) How materials are sourced. b) the fact that non solar charging stations are using ........FOSSIL FUELS! Unless it 's nuclear of course.
  12. That is simply not true. This is appalling. But why is it necessary? Unless solar chargers are used, electric vehicles are using fossil fuels. Just going about it in such a complex way, which demands child slave labor and causes more pollution.very sad that people buy into ideology and refuse to see what is actually happening.
  13. A glaringly obvious point that should be raised within government, in view of the great enthusiasm for e autos. That is the worst part of this con. Another issue is that unless charging stations are solar powered, aren’t fossil fuels actually being used anyway? But the fact that no one cares about these children has to be of concern.
  14. Did a search and can’t find this topic. Feel it needs to be aired. Child Labour in Africa, in eco unfriendly conditions, is ‘necessary’ to provide the cobalt needed for electric cars. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4764208/Child-miners-aged-four-living-hell-Earth.html Isnt it about time we discussed this?
  15. Insurance didn’t pay out, as I recall.
  16. What do we need? Dependable connections for starters.
  17. Yes, I agree. But I think that is the point. How to get younger people involved? Although even the older generation can be quite apathetic. Pose a challenging question about political matters and they simply can’t be bothered to consider it.
  18. Have just discovered this topic. A little late, I know. But how did you manage to contact Evri. They lost my parcel too. I was trying to claim on insurance, but there are no humans available. Tried leaving a message with the local guy but it has been ignored. This incident dates back to August last year btw. Had actually given up.
  19. True. But you have to start somewhere. How do we take it further? Fb? Telegram? Twitter? Increases the readership perhaps, but in the end will it result in action? Perhaps it needs a dedicated group. Obviously not Mec Vannin these days. PAG? This is the big question. How do you get people to actually take an interest and take action about local affairs? Apathy is rampant, and also understandable to some extent. If the public feels that they are not taken seriously then action seems futile. Aim achieved?
  20. But surely of concern that a non medically qualified person who was not on the island and had no knowledge of island life was seemingly in charge of a care home which had a noticeably high mortality rate?
  21. https://t.me/worlddoctorsalliance/21456 Letter to BJ I consider the questions raised in that letter to be very pertinent. Who can name UK / GB delegates for starters? Why is there no reporting of this issue?
