  1. All these parralels being drawn with drowned migrants are completely bolluks in my eyes . The fact is it is far more interesting than a boat load of capsized brown and poor people isn't it? . But not because of WHO. I couldn't really give a shite who they are on the boats or in the submarine it's everything else about it that's facinating to me like the heniz bean tin looking heap of shit submarine operated by a Logitech controller decending into kilometres deep pitch black water at around 6000psi pressure.. and the possibility that they are still alive and aware of what's going to happen to them. I think for me the only thing about the people which may interest me is how they could be dumb enough to get bolted inside that thing . It would be absolutely amazing to say you'd been to those depths and had seen the 111 year old wreck of Titanic but it's not worth becoming the 1505th person to be laid to rest there for I don't think. So yeah for these reasons and a lot more it captures my attention far more and have no shame to admit it .
  2. Yeah, with the off peak rate of 0.176p kWh it's not a bad system I wouldn't have anything else for my place.
  3. Yep the Heat (Warmth would be more accurate term) output is low and almost constant which works a treat in a nicely insulated and air tight box but not in your typical old Manx stone cave specification home You need shear quantity of raw heat in a typical older building . Mine uses undefloor piping which is about the best system to use alongside an air or ground source but as for cooling the problem then is condensation on the pipework I find, especially at low water temps like 6c so you're limited to around 18c to avoid this which is kind of useless at cooling effectively but still make your elecy meter stack up the Units nicely for Manx Utilites. Clever valves and what not can deal with the hot water/cold water issue but I gave up trying to cool my place with it more because its far cheaper to just throw all the windows open and allow the cool evening air to drop the temperature enough to sleep comfortably but I'm off work so that works fine going to bed around 10pm - 12am! Wouldn't be much use earlier in the evening though. Very tempted to buy an air con with the internal wall mounted fan coil unit just for serving the bedroom in mid summer, cheap as chips too .
  4. I believe there will be some short lived noise but I agree on the lack of action sadly
  5. Exactly .. I think we could almost accept what's below ground level down there is an ungodly mess and needed sorting out but there was no need to create another stupid bloody bump in the road . Trust the Dept of Imbeciles to waste our money creating more bumps instead of fixing a few of the many we already have . No doubt the expensive granite paving used on them will begin to disintegrate as soon as the jobs finished.. same as the stuff along the prom has begun to and Parliament street has long since done . Embarrassing is the word
  6. Well I didn't realise Ronnie Pickering had moved to the Island but apparently he (or his twin brother?) has and I upset him on this evenings commute home on the ballanard/johhny watersons roundabout when he dithered for a couple of milliseconds too long for my impatient liking.. and it was highly entertaining listening to him beep me repeatedly and race up behind me and sit on my towbar! Then when my foot accidently slipped sharply onto the brake pedal his bitter tactics turned to high beaming me all the way back to the tholty turning at the bungalow 🤣 he did provide me with a good chuckle !
  7. @OmobonoIts still narrow because they are still working on approx half of the final road width you do realise? . But yes its a pretty typical DoI shit show and when the full story comes out there will be massive public outrage
  8. Just a car that had shat itself and unable to move under its own steam I'd say . Waiting to be recovered?. It was upright and undamaged looking with hazards flashing when I went past and with only one plod in attendance (around 5pm)
  9. I got stuck in that collosal queue as well.. some knob at the front of it presumably getting off on being responsible for pissing hundreds of people off . Clearly could have pulled in at windy corner (amongst other places) perfectly safely.. but nope
  10. Yeah I got one a month or so back. Based on what was said it was the first issued here , I was a bit of a guinea pig and it took quite a bit of sorting out especially as I don't bank with them . As for Amex , I hope they don't close my account as I've got a good limit and decent Apr . Although I can't see them closing it while I owe about £12k .. hehe
