  4. According to the Roads Policing Unit there is no limit in legislation here 🤷‍♂️
  5. Quite apt for the thread title then 🙈👍
  6. https://www.iomtoday.co.im/news/footpath-cleared-for-active-travel-235849
  7. Or at least give it a go before spending millions on what could be another unnecessary scheme 🤷‍♂️
  8. Still seem hell bent on building a 1.2m wall the length of the promenade but have done nothing to manage the beach level to where it was, or looked at reintroducing groynes to reduce longshore drift. What’s going to happen when the beach level reaches halfway up the new wall, are they going to add another 1.2m on top? 🤷‍♂️
  9. Post on IOMG facebook page this morning……..
  10. Doesn’t mention how many but at least one spotted out there https://www.three.fm/news/isle-of-man-news/manx-bus-spotted-acting-as-tour-vehicle-in-malta/
  11. Listening to Rob this morning, it sounds like the 2023 TT schedule is sorted as far as he’s concerned, regardless of any views given in the upcoming public consultation. https://www.manxradio.com/news/isle-of-man-news/proposed-tt-schedule-changes-made-with-motorcycling-events-in-mind/?fbclid=IwAR2oJ6vcEf3DuZHKOUtcJmlR9Xg0XWKhG7egr3Zo1njNK8Lg1KNQM5KTZ_M&fs=e&s=cl
  12. The Director of Transport Services, Ian Longworth, has today announced his intention to retire as he has now reached the traditional retirement age. https://www.gov.im/news/2022/jun/14/director-of-transport-services-ian-longworth-to-retire/
  13. And it now has a bus stop built in the middle which narrows that section down to half the width of the rest anyway; traffic calming for cyclists 🤷‍♂️
  14. Where can I buy some wild flower seeds to grow some of those? 🤷‍♂️
  15. A great venue but did wonder at the choice of this location for such an event; not the easiest to reach for those reliant on public transport or just want to call past.
  16. They’ve run out of whatever is being used to fill the new groove on Queens promenade so experimenting with alternatives 🙉
  17. Don’t expect too much empathy, obviously nobody in DOI has to use that route daily! This reply was forwarded to me earlier in answer to the question asked about Tromode Road being closed while the extended traffic lights are still in place on yet another over run scheme in the area……. “Thank you for your email, unfortunately there may be an overlap between the Ballafletcher Road Works and Tromode Road. We appreciate this is an inconvenience, and I would imagine those wishing to go beyond Tromode Park Estate would detour onto Ballanard for those few days.”
  18. Give them chance to get the coloured paints out to create a continuous pavement once the tarmac is laid 🙉
  19. Yes…..bit difficult to arrive at security 2 hours before a 7am flight when the airport opens at 5:30am 🤷‍♂️
  20. Road works will be returning for a short period along Douglas Promenade…….
  21. Seems appointments out the window and walk ins now available Saturday and Mon - Fri next week for over 40’s (on IOM Gov Facebook page but can’t see on website yet) Walk-in clinics have been organised at the Chester Street vaccination hub, where an additional 3,000 slots are being made available between Saturday and Christmas Eve, in an effort to get as many booster vaccines into arms as possible. The walk-in slots are available to anyone aged 40 and over and those who are medically vulnerable regardless of whether they already have an appointment - those who wish to retain their pre-booked appointments can do so, and attend as invited. The walk-in clinic times are: Saturday 18 December - 9.30am - 1pm Monday 20 December – 8:30am – 15:45pm Tuesday 21 December – 8:30am – 15:45pm Wednesday 22 December – 8:45am – 15:15pm Thursday 23 December - 8.30am until 12:00pm Friday 24 December (Christmas Eve) – 8.30am – 12:00pm While plenty of vaccine will be available each day, booked appointments will take priority and jabs will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. It is possible depending on demand that some people will be asked to return the following day if the session they attend reaches full capacity. These clinics are only available for the 40+ and at-risk groups, and people not yet eligible are asked not to attend. https://www.facebook.com/iomgovernment/photos/a.201016003920310/870372613651309/?type=3
  22. And the same drivers doing the same at Braddan Church roundabout on their return journey, with many accelerating from the corner before if you dare to pull off Vicarage Road whilst they’re still 20m+ from the roundabout itself.
