Mate that is fantastic if the guys going to guarantee access to the coastal walkways you can't criticize that , but I's still like to see public access guaranteed down there in some sort of written(Legal) form . Who's to say ,the guy could croak unexpectedly and the new owner might not have his noble sentiments ?

That's the thing you have to watch , if the owners have intentionally let the walkway fall into disrepair so as to discourage walkers and negate the PROW arguement . As a Manxie I'm really pissed at the amount of picturesque land that's been sold to landowners who then deny public access . It needs to stop .Maybe I'll give Cretters a shout on this should be right up his Street!!

Somebody needs to lodge an application for registering the walkways down there as public ROW asap and if possible make sure the are plenty of big fuck off benches dotted along it's length.

Regardless ,the footpath of which you speak was very seldom used , I think the level of opposition to any attempt to restrict access to Port Soderick would be on a whole different level.

Fair enough ,but the public have had documented access to that area for over a century and isn't the law that such , that if it can be proved that the public have had unrestricted access to a roadway or path for more than 20 yrs then it qualifies as a public footpath and wasn't that the rationale behind the Clarkson debacle?

I've got no problems with them building housing units down there tourist or other wise as long as they fit the surrounds and public access is maintained to the Coastal footpath and beach ,it's criminal the way Port Soderick has been left to deteriorate.
