  1. Come on, be serious. The EU and the ECB do have money, or are you saying that the money doesn't exist?
  2. Yes, interesting to see what happens everywhere after this. What do you make of the EU's combined €1250bn Corona package?
  3. If we're looking for examples of mistakes or things that could have been done better during this pandemic then we're going to need a big piece of paper. I much prefer people who accept that they make mistakes, apologise and try to do better than those that blindly push on. Look at Trump's approach to this, truly shocking.
  4. I read that, apparently the first time for any payment from the US Government. He doesn't miss a trick does he?
  5. Quiet or not I very much doubt any of those aforementioned people are doing anything philanthropic. Anywho, you could just donate to this old fella, what a star - https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/tomswalkforthenhs
  6. Priti Patel channelling her inner Dianne Abbott numeracy skills. Maybe she should stick to smirking from home.
  7. Andrew Jessop. Lol, what else do you expect from a man who once campaigned for the abolition of local authorities and now sits on one?
  8. No idea. Taken from IoM airport website: "In response to the COVID19 Pandemic and in line with Emergency Powers, ALL persons arriving onto the Isle of Man MUST be in possession of a Letter of Exemption issued by the Government Chief Secretary. Any person arriving on the Isle of Man without a Letter of Exemption, will be refused entry and will be required to return to their point of origin at their own expense. We currently have a limited schedule of services, which is in place to support patient and key worker transfers. Outbound flights are available for booking by any person wishing to leave the island, however, return travel is currently restricted to those persons who are in possession of a Letter of Exemption issued by the Isle of Man Government’s Chief Secretary. Letters are issued via official channels, and if you are eligible, this will be processed on your behalf by the appropriate sponsor. Please DO NOT contact either the Airport, or the Chief Secretary’s Office for information regarding Letters of Exemption. Flights are currently operating as follows: Isle of Man to London Heathrow 6 x weekly operated by British Airways (bookable via www.ba.com) Isle of Man to Liverpool 12 x weekly operated by Loganair (bookable via www.loganair.co.uk) Isle of Man to Manchester 6 x weekly operated by Loganair (bookable via www.loganair.co.uk)" Looks like you can leave if you can find a flight.
  9. Are you allowed on them without permission? I thought they were covering patient transfers and I can't find any flight availability for those routes.
  10. It is my understanding that you can leave but you (currently) would not be allowed to return (unless you have express permission from the Government). The more practical issue is actually finding a way off the Island, I assume you'd have to use a private plane or boat.
  11. Come on, have you seen the PCP rates on a Lamborghini?
  12. Sound advice for all you guys self isolating.
  13. Appreciate that it is not particularly relevent to the IoM but flour is available here. Flour really is a pointless mass purchase unless you use it reasonably quickly, I expect lots of people to be dealing with infestations of weevils.
  14. Yeast, if its for baking bread then just make your own starter - https://www.theverge.com/2020/3/31/21199708/yeast-diy-baking-covid-19-shortage-make-it-yourself-bread (lots of other guides out there).
  15. Sounds like quite a few of the regulars on here.
  16. I hope you were wearing your Howard bathing suit?
  17. He isn't a medical doctor is he?
  18. What's the point that you're trying to make? It is inevitable that different try different strategies, some will work and some won't. Although they are currently accepting patients from other countries Germany is still expecting to be stretched at some point.
  19. Bit rich coming from someone with the empathy of a mushroom.
  20. Reports that Dominic Cummings has developed symptoms and is self-isolating, perhaps he didn't run out of No. 10 fast enough.
  21. I know you're an old fashioned fellow but the World has moved on a little bit since the Black Death, even in Norfolk. Nice to see that you are so grateful and supportive of those working in the Welfare State risking their own health to protect the likes of you. You really have no shame do you (rhetorical question, I'm not interested in your answer), you need draining from the swamp.
  22. Well, that's probably immaterial anyway because you've panic bought and hoarded all the food in your local area. I can accept that Brexit could potentially be good deal for the UK in the long term, although I cannot accept that any one can accurately predict that outcome. However, I would interested how you think Covid-19 is going to be a positive thing for the UK (or anywhere)?
  23. Don't let Rog know, he's already in a Mad Max state of panic.
