piebaps
Remember of course that the Palace cinema isn't a charity. It's a commercial enterprise and must turn a profit for its owners. They will show films which they believe will turn a profit based on the terms from the distributor and their experience of the IOM audience. They don't have the benefit of a huge catchment area like a big UK city. Look at the recent cinema poll on manx.net. A third of the respondents won't be watching any of the listed films. The question was What films will you be wtaching this summer 3.62% - She's Out of My League (230 votes) 20.32% - Wild Target (1293 votes) 1.43% - Robin Hood (91 votes) 17.51% - Toy Story 3 (1114 votes) 2.45% - Sex and the City 2 (156 votes) 5.28% - Shrek Forever After (336 votes) 0.24% - Cop Out (15 votes) 0.74% - TheTooth Fairy (47 votes) 13.53% - Twilight Eclipse (861 votes) 0.9% - A Nightmare on Elm Street (57 votes) 33.98% - None of the options (2162 votes
