  1. Can you give us some examples of dishes and prices - just for context.
  2. Not necessarily. Things are normally done via what is known as an International Letter of Request. This is done prosecutor to prosecutor and HMAG would then issue the appropriate instructions for forcible evidence gathering. You get a feel for the process in the Rivkin judgements https://www.judgments.im/content/J1036.htm
  3. It's probably worthwhile looking at the detail. The changes are publicized in the RTLC Applications, Decisions and Notices (ADN) circulars which are here https://www.gov.im/about-the-government/offices/road-transport-licensing-committee/ppv-drivers-operators/ppv-applications-decisions-and-notices-circulars/#accordion It all started in the January 2024 ADN None of the responses were published so we don't know who said what. In the 12 April ADN however we got the following; Then in ADN 570 a slight correction; There was no further explanation I could find and the minutes of their public meetings only go up to May 2023. https://www.gov.im/about-the-government/offices/road-transport-licensing-committee/document-library/minutes-of-meetings-held-in-public/ There's no indication that the Tariff 2 change was suggested by a driver or operator nor any detailed explanation why the Committee changed it or how they considered the wider impact. The Committee is by the way;
  4. It was announced on 12 April after consultation. See ADN Circular 569 https://www.gov.im/about-the-government/offices/road-transport-licensing-committee/ppv-drivers-operators/ppv-applications-decisions-and-notices-circulars/#accordion
  5. We have that here now. Despite all the cash Ken is raking in. A landlord told me that the invoice he got for training included VAT so Ken's doing OK. I was chatting to my local landlord last night and asked if he went to the Call to Arms. He said no and it was frankly embarrassing. He knows his business and his market and is doing OK. If there was some free Gov cash sloshing around he'd take it. If a business is struggling then it needs to look inwardly first. Chucking taxpayer money into underperforming businesses isn't the answer.
  6. He got the 2004 figures which are 21 years ago so pretty close to the 25. All obtained in a few seconds too. If he wants more he can look himself. Something which he clearly hadn't done.

  8. You're not looking hard enough. This doesn't split out "civil servants" who are a very specific group of admin and specialist officers who include prison officers, air traffic controllers, vets, lawyers and accountants among others. IIRC these number around 2500 of all public servants. This was found using google. This is from an FOI late last year (number 3486125)
  9. Politician talks through hole! Not really news😂
  10. Its on the agenda paper for next week https://www.tynwald.org.im/spfile?file=/business/opqp/opqp/2024-PP-0050.pdf There's a link from that to the response document.
  11. Weird post. P3 was in place until the English left the EU.
  12. According to Gov figures £141m will be paid in pensions in 24-25 (FOI 3723609) The overpayments reported are 0.13% 80% relate to payments made after the public servant has died but before the paying authority knew. There can be a lag time between death and registration of death - in my dad's case just over two weeks due to a requirement for a post mortem. The only way a paying authority would know is if a relative informed them - among all the other things that go on following a death. No matter how much the OP dislikes public servants (which can be the only reason for the post), the amounts involved are tiny and the amount written off even smaller (£292 between 14.08.2019 and 29.02.2024 (FOI 3709850). As JW quite rightly points out, even shapeshifting corrupt public servants can't commit fraud after they die.
  13. Perhaps is just you not being creditworthy😀
  14. Don't forget the bloody Norwegians either, they invaded us too.
  15. The rules are set out here https://www.gov.im/categories/tax-vat-and-your-money/income-tax-and-national-insurance/individuals/residents/tax-relief/ Pension contributions are deducted from your total income before your tax bill is calculated. They get relief at between 10% and 20% depending on whether you are in the 10% band, the 20% band or a mixture of the two.
  16. Come on John. Dave's replaced Barrie as the forum expert on fucking everything.
  17. That's just the first time buyer properties
  18. While I don't disagree, look across the Atlantic to see what party politics is setting up in the US election.
  19. Not quite Fred. There is still no RSE being taught. The most disturbing thing was a criminal case where an abused child only found out they'd been abused after attending an RSE lesson and learning about their body and what improper conduct was. How many more are out there suffering because of the ridiculous pathway Edge and DESC followed and are still following. https://www.manxradio.com/news/isle-of-man-news/manipulative-monster-jailed-for-sexually-abusing-two-children/
  20. The first flounce of March. Well done sir
