If you look at old photo's of the course, there have constantly been changes for traffic reasons. I think eventually there will be others, the 32nd is one area which springs to mind? That seems a particularly dangerous series of bends for drivers.

The 32nd s a nightmare and a big one waiting to happen. During TT one way (open roads), the entry speeds to that series through to the 33rd are far too high, and there is the added complexity of the junction, too. Representations were repeatedly made during my time. Some work has been done on the near side, which has helped a bit.

Quite a few bikes off through there over the years, often with life changing consequences.

Agree "DF" nearly been taken out a few times going up to marshal(from the Creg) , not on the first bend but the second kink , Windy side, referred to as colour bone corner by a few of the medics. Just saying :flowers:

ETA and while they're about it a bit of air fencing and/or filing the rock strewn gully adjacent to the road at "Casey's" would perhaps serve to save another racing fatality .

Absolutely! It's almost criminal to have never acted on this, not just for racing either.

Isn't it about time the police started handing out invoices (fixed penalty notices?) to single-vehicle accidents for their time? That might make a few think twice about pranging their motor up there. Or better still, instigate a series of financial penalties to the next time a vehicle is taxed in that drivers name?

It’s up to Government to build the law and policy first

There’s a couple a week at the moment. They need to do something about it but the TT Course is hallowed ground.

"But it's not the bloodbath that some predicted". No indeed.

The TT course is hallowed ground but the Mountain Rd is a public highway. Unfortunately, far too many people appear to be incapable of navigating it at the speeds they are allowed to do. Within a few weeks of the release of lockdown speed limit we've gone from zero crashes to about twenty+ if you include the obvious evidence from media-unreported incidents.

One hears that "the Mountain is a dangerous road", even in official reports. Bull. The road is an inanimate object. What's dangerous is drivers driving outside their talent issue.

It's when the innocents get caught up in the issue that really drives it home. Our politicians need to grasp this nettle.
