What about little old Doris that don't have tinternet and don,t listen to Energy. Water Authority very poor PR! No it's not. They have just discovered the contamination and it's recent. Lisenchuk
Nothing on www.iomonline.co.im Unbelievable or energy's news site, or manx radio's news site, or govenments news site.Lets hope it's nothing serious. How many people are checking those sites every few minutes just in case something like this happens? What should be happening, is water authority vans with loud speakers going around the affected area broadcsting details Yeah, and the civil defence sirens should be sounding and emergency water supplies should be dropped in by helicopter EDITED TO ADD I've just looked outside and it's peeing down rain, cancel the helicopter. Lisenchuk
Wow that bath was hot!!! I suggest not boiling the bath water. Didn't you think of blowing on the bath water for 15 mins before you got in?

Don't defend their incompetence unless you work for them Lol Are you mental? It's a recent thing, how can you give an early warning to something that hasn't happened. Oh and the old 'you must work for them' line is fucking tiresome. Even if they were out with loud hailers how long do you think it would take to cover every house in Douglas, Onchan, Baldrine, Lower Laxey, Crosby, Marown, Glen Vine, Santon, Ballasalla, Castletown, Ballabeg, Colby, Arbory, Port Erin and Port St Mary. They pretty much hit all immediate channels with the info. If you're worried about Doris go and tell her. Take a chill pill dick head!

pongo
Apart from sending loud hailers through the streets what more do you want? There was a similar situation where I was living in the UK when I was a student and that is exactly what the water authority did. And they also went door to door. Can you think of any reason why they shouldn't do that here ?
slinkydevil
Can you think of any reason why they shouldn't do that here ? No reason at all, isn't that what civil defence is for? Maybe they're doing just that? cdc350212boilyourwaterlowresv2.pdf

Can you think of any reason why they shouldn't do that here ? Seriously people. How do we know aren't doing that, or won't later? It was announced about an hour ago, is all over Facebook, twitter, has been announced on the radio. The announcement asks those they have managed to make contact with via the channels above to contact others who may not know. It took 30 seconds to text elderly relatives and someone we know who has just come out of hospital. It's a precautionary thing anyway, what do all the whiners actually expect them to do differently? And how many of those whiners have actually bothered to pass the info on to others?
