Where are all the Fatwa's, from all those clerics able to issue them in France, in Europe, in the Middle East, all over the world - - and there are ten's of thousands of them - - condemning the attack in Paris (and all the other historical attrocities; 9/11, 7/7 etc....) declaring that the use of violence to shut off criticism or even mockery of any aspect of islam, is not acceptable and violates the law and spirit of islam?

There is, so far, not a single such Fatwa, anywhere in the world.

Why not?

Put the Imams of France, and the World, on the spot.

Ask them: Will these two killers go to muslim heaven? Yes or No?

Will those Imams offer the equivalent of ex-communication, by publicly declaring that these killers of blaspheming Infidels wil not go, CANNOT GO, to that mohammedan heaven?

Who knows the answer to that?

Some of us know the answer to that....

Where are all the Fatwa's (sic)

This seems a somewhat fallacious argument given that the attack only took place yesterday. Muslim leaders and clerics both in France and internationally have been swift to condemn this attack.

Also - contrary to what idiot US TV commentators would have us believe, Muslim leaders have continually condemned ISIS. Including issuing commentary in the form of fatwas (a concept which seems to be widely misunderstood).

PS: There was an interesting debate on F-24 tonight in which several commentators noted that most Muslims in France are lapsed. More Muslim women wear the bikini than the veil apparently.

Maybe this type of thing is sold to other muslims as "bringing democracy" to the west like it is when we kill (so much more) of them ...no greater hypocrisy than ourselves ...lets err murder these murderers , wipe this scum from the planet etc etc ...can anyone really be surprised when the same element of muslims does the same to us? We put a guy front page of paper happy that he killed 1680 people with drone whilst sat safe and sound eating pizza in the us?? Is he a hero? To some people he is

There's no such thing as a "lapsed Muslim". Muslims are a religious group, not an ethnicity. The people you refer to are clearly of Arab ethnicity and are no longer Muslim. Big difference. Some of the worst, most vile Muslims are in fact western converts and not Arabs at all.

Yes and no. In a strictly doctrinal sense you would be correct. By a similar argument there is no such thing as a lapsed Catholic.

However - some seem fixated on an imagined idea that the population of Muslims is growing almost exponentially. The truth is that many people who are recorded as Muslim do not attend mosque. If, by your argument, they are no longer Muslim then this undermines the idea of a rapidly growing Muslim population.

It's the same point, either way. ETA: whether they are lapsed or "no longer".

The concept of a "lapsed Catholic" is purely religious in nature. In real terms, the person is no longer a Catholic; it is only the Catholic Church's doctrines which state that a person is irrevocably a Catholic and their hope that the person will one day return to the Church; just as islam claims all human beings are born Muslim and therefore all non-Muslims are apostates and all converts to Islam are really "reverts". If the person later did return to the Church, I suppose they could be retroactively deemed a laposed Catholic. But if they ditch Catholicism, because it was just taught to them as kids, and they become Atheist or Protestant or whatever then they have the right to self-identify however they want and should not be labelled a "lapsed Catholic".
