Tarne
Tesco are still made of money - they had a 7 billion write down, but that was a one off.
manxy
IOM Tesco is gossiped to be the most profit making Tesco store in the North West.
monasqueen
I seem to recall that M&S used to say that their Douglas store's food section had the largest sales of any in the UK. That was before Tesco arrived, but they still seem to do good business.

Might be slightly dearer than the run of the mill ok type foods, but I do enjoy some of their food.

NoTail
If you acquire the land on which the building stands it must amount to the same thing I would think.

Drivel
We were stopped in Strand Street last week by Manx Radio and asked our opinion on a new Tesco Express but the girl definitely said it was in Douglas, in or near the Strand Shopping Centre if I recall... Moghrey Mie
Apparently people were under-whelmed by the display in the old MEA showroom last week. No detail.

Tarne
Excellent news. Also, love your name, as I presume it's from the Okells Jiarg (Red), which is a delicious beverage.

Common sense for the win. Good Once that is established they can relocate the existing store to a business park where it should have been in the first place.
