dilligaf
Seems Tesco won, they have been granted an alcohol license, for the Strand Centre, pending approval of the shop layout. Good. Common sense for the win. Good Once that is established they can relocate the existing store to a business park where it should have been in the first place. Above sea level too. mollag
It seems to have gone quiet re the Strand Centre, Tesco Express, quietly abandoned maybe?
andrew
It was mentioned in the paper a few weeks ago that they were still wanting to go in, however couldn't progress things whilst the Strand Centre was in the process of being sold to Sports Direct. Now that's all completed, I'm sure they are discussing it with them to progress. I guess it depends how much space Sports Direct want compared to Tesco. I would have thought both would want the ground floor Strand Street facing ex-MEA space.
2112
Tesco still waiting on the alcohol licence. One was granted but I think it's gone to appeal.
