Lisenchuk
I noticed a story on the front page of the Examiner where a 27 year old man has been wrongfully detained at Jurby Hilton for 6 weeks. His advocate is severely criticising police for causing the detention due to wrong charges being pursued against him. The alleged offence supposedly involved class A substances which he denied from the outset. The full details will appear on iomtoday in due course, but only a blurred image of the front page is visible at present. Yin & Yang
What's saying that the 'illegal steroid' that they tested wasn't laced with a class A drug?
JackCarter
What's saying it wasn't and he did 6 weeks by mistake?
Lisenchuk
What's saying that the 'illegal steroid' that they tested wasn't laced with a class A drug? What would be the problem with charging him for class A's legitimately if that were so?

asitis
Anyone know the full story ? drugs are usually subject to lab analysis prior to court to prove what they are.
piebaps
From the paper, he was arrested for other offences and when nicked, he indicated that he was carrying drugs which he claimed were steroids. These were subjected to a field test which indicated class A. He was remanded to Jurby by a Court pending a lab test. The lab test results showed no Class A and the polis are investigating why the field test failed. In the meantime, numbnuts' advocate is playing the world's smallest violin about the suffering his client went through - obviously looking for compo. To my mind, he had 40 illegal steroid pills and his conduct on the boat was such that police were called and he was arrested when it docked. He should get a pat on the back, a cheese sandwich and then told to fuck off back where he came from and don't come back here.
llap
Doesn't it send out the wrong message labelling drugs as class? Next they'll be calling them sound, like.
Mr. Sausages
I know of an incident, almost 20 years ago, when the police tested sherbet from a refresher sweet and the results said it was amphetamine.
finlo
And I remember another case about 20 years ago where the police swapped a guy's gear at the post office for sherbet or other white powder. And the recipient got off with it, not being illegal to receive sherbet etc through the post.
