La Colombe
Out of interest, hands up if you knew Slade covered a Zappa track? I know I didn't! Strictly speaking it's pre Slade Slade.
Shake me up Judy
No, I didn't know that Slade had covered a Frank song either ! Decent version too. There was always much more to Slade than their chart hits and popular image. Thanks, La Colombe

Listening to that recording on a 'refrence' hi-fi at moderate volume is the way to go. You can then appreciate more clearly the image and separation of the dual orchestras which is essential to that particular composition. 6 feet between the speakers and seated 10 feet from the source it's very impressive. As the guy said at the beginning of the programme, the piece didn't work with a conventional orchestral set-up. Thanks for that, interesting stuff, worth registering for also because there's a great deal of material on that site.
