Gee Cee
The TT fraternity are very fond of putting forward their 'heros' as role models for the youngsters on the Island. Guy Martin has now appeared in court, charged with using a fake driving licence. It is so good to see that the 'TT role models' set such a wonderful example. Hmmm, well he has pleaded not guilty and chosen to go through Crown Court. He used to live in Ireland so there could be more to this than meets the eye? La Colombe
It's worth noting that the biggest hero of all was convicted of drink driving on the island. You don't hear much about that amidst the anti-DD hysteria over here.

As role models? Don't be so daft, most sportsmen are not role models, they are very selfish by nature. They are merely brought in to give kids a flavour of what is going on in their island. In which case I’d love to see the rationale behind that but I doubt they’re being promoted as “role models”. Sports stars possibly.
La Colombe
Here's a perfect example of them being used as role models. You'll note the emphasis is on setting and achieving personal goals. Anyone suggesting that they are not being promoted as role models to the kids is an idiot.
