Note the careful wording. It doesn't say assisting HMCM to deliver his demanding duties, it says enabling so I reckon you'd finish up actually doing the bloody job yourself, and all for £30k a year. At least it's not a temp agency appointment on 8 quid an hour.

Disturbingly, whereas you probably intended that as a joke, I fear it’s only too likely. Then again, the prospect of anyone other than Quayle doing it is actually appealing.

Indeed. Hats off to the individual who put up with what must surely be the worst job in government for 18 months. I hope they now write a book.
