Fred the shred Posted January 26 Share Posted January 26 Sounds like a plan the Manx money is really scruffy most of the time, the only place English money is available, to my knowledge, is Athol St. IOM Bank or the Sea Terminal if you are an Isle of Man Bank customer. There's something like £78M in Manx currency in circulation, and the idea (as Manx money might as well say "Bank of Toyland", as Manx money is useless anywhere else) is that they bank the real £78M UK cash and get interest on it. Plus I'll bet around the world there's at least a couple of £million in Manx notes and coins in coin collections, on golf courses, pinned behind foreign bars and in drawers and attics far away. I remember reading somewhere that there is a reason why we are encouraged to use manx notes. When manx notes are printed in the UK, the IOM has to deposit the equivalent amount of funds with the UK.
