  1. You've just witnessed a miracle and probably a unique event in the history of easyjet operations. File it away for posterity; the chances of something similar happening again are minimal.
  2. I looked into flying to Brum a few weeks ago. The fares were farcically extortionate. It's as if they don't want anyone to use the service which might be their masterplan. The Island continues to be served by a piss-poor operation that is taking our captive market for a not very frequent and unreliable ride.
  3. Tens of thousands of bikers and visitors during the fortnight - she should be 'open all hours' and advertising the fact. 'Box-of-thinking-out-the' - too little of it going on in the tea-shop trade, clearly.
  4. The data says there is nothing 'wild' about increased mortality in a number of areas. Have a 'wild' time with your head buried in wherever you stuff it.
  5. What's the current situation of the Bill here? I note that the Jocks are discussing it and, as usual, as a once potential 'leader' in the question, others will possibly overtake us and leave us behind. There was a (not unexpectedly) well-reasoned article on the matter in the DT today: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/03/28/lord-sumption-medically-assisted-suicide-moral-dilemma/
  6. You quit and 'jumped' off the Island and did us all a favor. Some would suggest you keep your nose out of others' business. Is 'arrogance' and 'smugness' seeping from the granite down there Kernow.
  7. This quarter's raid on my financial resources by MEA has just dropped onto the mat. Why is Tynwald not being raised to the ground, with the power station criminals inside it, and rioters in the street - or, as good Brits, we just take it on the chin? My bill, with 40 units less used than this time last year, is £70 more. I know, I know world energy prices etc but they are plummeting and it's time they were reflected here. I feel for the less well off and their having to pay a high price for the dodgy dealings of the few trough feeders that profited (no pun intended). BTW, Sunak has announced the UK will be BUILDING gas-fired power stations. Take note, Faragher and you green eco-loons.
  8. I had occasion to be driving (across) over the past week and, ladies and gentlemen, I can with, a degree of certainty, say that while the state of roads here leave a lot to be desired along with the (non) quality of repairs (I read in a 'national' that the average pothole repair lasts 9 days) some of the road surfaces, and main roads at that, were positively 'third-world'. There was one particular stretch of A570 in Ormskirk whereon a stretch of I'd estimate of 200yds, 40% of the tarmac surface was missing leaving hard core exposed..... and that wasn't atypical.
  9. In other words, Allinson, get back to work in what you're trained to do and leave running an economy to people who know how to create and attract wealth.
  10. Ha, planners - one step up from Estate Agents and Tax Collectors. They couldn't plan proverbial in a brewery and continue the concreting-over of the Island while the price is right.
  11. ....ditto uses the ferry but your parish councilors decided to fork out for the Racket. You've gone over to the dark side in all respects.
  12. You asked for it and got it.
  13. If you need to ask that, you either need to resign or seek medical help. This is a rock in the middle of the Irish Sea. Air links are vital if the economy is to stand any chance of expansion. I really am incredulous at your post.
  14. 1. The negligible side of negligible. 2. No. 3. More than we can either afford, or if the real cost were put to the GMP, want to afford. 4. Not the bastards who want to impose their irrational eco-lunacy on the rest of us. Next question?
  15. No Tail, you missed 'past lessons have been learnt' - although they can be excused given most of them are educationally challenged in the first place.
  16. Not only amazing - but a bloody miracle.
  17. So basically, not content with the money that farmer made from selling off half his land a few years ago, he now wants to plough a few more million into his overseas property portfolio with a few more holiday pads. Dandara is a pox on this Island but the disease is fed by the farms selling their souls. Conversely, the sooner Dandara concrete over the Island and everybody emigrates, the sooner Dandara can eff off and build their ticky-tacky boxes to curse some other gullible brown-envelop jurisdiction.
  18. Wrong. The 'immigrants', by which you undoubtedly mean those from the 'mainland' especially since the 80s, have not stood out like proverbial sore thumbs either by appearance or language and have been legally entitled to come here. The recent perceptible influx of newcomers, given the huge levels of legal and illegal incursions into the UK over the past 10 years and especially past 3 years , gives rise to legitimate questions as to the bona fides of their presence here irrespective of skin colour.
  19. I have to agree. The perceived number of (obvious) immigrants since the end of the CV fiasco has risen beyond belief as an hour in Tesco or just 10 minutes loitering (without intent) on Strand Street will reveal to any bystander. The question I repeatedly ask myself is 'what or who (in terms of employment) brought you here and how are you supporting you and your family?'. It would seem that the hospital is one such employer bringing in a number of extra-UK workers but in such numbers as seem apparent? There's also no absence of unidentified (to me, at least) languages from more questionable European origins as well. You have a rather perverse view of the meaning of racism but seems to suit your apparent world-view.
  20. .....like how to get rid of them. This Island is running at a massive democratic deficit.
  21. Oh good, praise be to Tesco and their unbounded generosity! By 'eck - we should feel ourselves privileged to be under the Tesco monopoly.
  22. Do tell. Where? Transported to and by what? Power to recycle derived from what? At what cost does this fabled 'green' utopia come?
  23. Fear not; lessons will be learned - after you've been run over.
  24. Saw the headline 'Illegal TV. Surely the island can lead the way' and thought yippee, we're going to tell the BBC where to stick its license fee.
