  1. Yesterday (May 16), three further arrests were made by the Isle of Man Constabulary in relation to the ongoing investigation into King Gaming Ltd IOM. The three individuals that were arrested have subsequently been released on police bail. The Constabulary released a statement on the arrests, which says: “This activity forms part of a wider fraud and money laundering investigation being led by the IOM Constabulary’s Proactive International Money Laundering Investigation Team who continue to conduct enquiries in close liaison with partners within the Islands AML/CFT regulatory and intelligence network to fully investigate these matters.” The Isle of Man Constabulary have said it will not be making any further comment in relation to this matter.
  2. I hope the DOI and Douglas Council take not of this report regarding sea defences on Douglas Prom. https://www.itv.com/news/granada/2024-04-09/cafe-workers-rescued-by-rnli-after-storm-causes-flooding
  3. Most of the shops in Port Erin are owned by Lloyds and Whittaker, the only ones owned by Keith McArd were Trend and where his offices were,
  4. There is also the car park behind the Haven hotel and as it is disc parking for 90 mins you can usually find somewhere to park, I manage to find a parking space every day in Port Erin, you just need to schedule when you go.
  5. The area marked in Yellow is where I parked today along with a few other people who were also in the shops.
  6. I parked there today to go into the shops on Orchard walk and there was plenty of parking.
  7. They have only closed a small section of the car park off which is along the wall of Shoprite/Tesco, there was lots of parking there today.

    TT 2024

Also note that The former M & Co shop on Market Street is available for a business to run as a pop-up store from Monday, May 27 to Monday, June 10, but the roof isn’t watertight. The DoI will ‘not accept any liability for water damage to stock’.

    TT 2024

This is from another photographer on FB. Did you know if you buy a ticket to watch the TT this year, the Govt will OWN ANY footage you record during the whole two weeks, no matter where it is taken if it relates to the TT?? That's what the terms & conditions state, and why I CANNOT apply for a media pass at the TT or even buy a ticket to watch it - "In addition, the Isle of Man Government Department for Enterprise owns the rights to any and all footage of, or relating to, the 2024 Isle of Man TT Races captured by persons assigned or in possession of any pass or ticket valid for the 2024 event, irrespective of whether the footage is captured from within an area requiring pass or ticket to access or not." So, if I made ANY recording, ANYWHERE which relates to the TT then the IoM Government immediately holds ALL rights to that footage. Not just in "restricted areas" but ANYWHERE - so not only on track but literally anywhere, doesn't even have to be of the bikes, but anything relating to the TT But not just Accredited media who sign up for a pass, if a member of the public buys ONE ticket they OWN the rights to ANY footage during the event, taken ANYWHERE. And I'm guessing they will have the same clause in the paddock passes for riders & their teams. So, if a family records a video on their phone of a family member who's competing the the races, even just relaxing, they won't own the rights to that footage. In theory the Govt could charge them a fee to share it family & friends or post on social media. Rob Callister perhaps yourself and Tim Johnston would like to tell me that this isn't in any way connected to the fiasco last year which I foolishly agreed not to take legal action over? Considering I was informed that the aim is to protect the "brand" of the TT all this does is ensure fewer people will apply for accreditation and you lose control of the "brand", instead of working with people and finding ways to build closer ties to promote the "brand" more widely.
  10. That rate of pay is for Health Care Workers!
  11. I think £12.03p per hour is more or less minimum wages.
  12. A lot are on bank but so short staffed they are all working extra hours on minimum pay!
  13. Some of the staff are working 13 hour shifts and finish at midnight when there are is no lighting on the rugby club car park. So discs aren't a good idea for staff, maybe a permit for them.
  14. My personal opinion is that it should be landscape which at least would look more in keeping! Although I don't like it and I think it is a waste of money which could be spent on better things for the Island. It also is not in keeping with a beautiful natural vista!
  15. Merry Christmas to everyone.

  17. Communication doesn't seem to be working as far as Manx Care are concerned. Just seen this warning from one MHK! Good Morning, This might be too late for some local people, but I thought it was worth sharing. I have contacted Manx Care and the Minister to ask whether the issue can be resolved ASAP: This is the message which I have just received: I had my Synaptik appointment this week at Nobles . They’re a very efficient organisation there and very nice people to deal with . Manx Care however let me down , in their appt letter to me they failed to tell me that I mustn’t wear my contact lenses for at least a week prior to that appointment. Doing so means that the optometrists can’t accurately take measurements of my eye . I now have to hope that this can be done in January when they return immediately before my operation or if not I’ll need to wait till March . Synaptik nurses were frustrated by this as I I was too . They have been telling Manx Care to put that advice in appointment letters for at least two years and it has yet to be done . So I’m delighted to be on the operating list now but frustrated by what may well be needless delay to getting accurate measurements to prepare for the operation. Such a simple thing to put right you’d think. If you are aware of somebody who is about to have this procedure please let them know. Jason.
