  1. Some irony there Corporal... Not to me there isn't. But just like you it's the opinion of just some bloke on an internet forum whose opinion isn't any more valid than the opinion of anyone else. Which begs the question why bother to post it up in the first place? What a waste of bandwidth....
  2. So I credited him for two extra years as PM. So fucking what. Diss him all you like but the fact remains he still knows a great deal more about the machinations to come than you ever will. Add to that he did down the party he had loyally served for so many years tells me he has serious concerns about the whole thing. Probably starting with the fact that it was his party that created this mess in the first place. Now you're being very very stupid. You really think I want myself, my family and my friends to suffer a drop in living standards? Clown... Perhaps you should stop judging others by your own particular and clearly self-centred standards. I posted up that since the Coalition gov came to power A&E admissions for severe malnutrition had risen by over 60%. We should all be thoroughly ashamed of that. The reason it has come about is because this tory government shifted money from the Social Care budget into the NHS budget whilst at the same time underfunding them both. John Major, to me, made a very telling point. That is the simple fact that a drop in living standards hits the poor and most vulnerable first. As we are currently seeing with the welfare cuts by IDS and others making a bad situation worse. The Institute For Fiscal Studies estimates that their welfare cuts will add nearly a million more children to the number of those living in poverty. A total of over 5 million by 2021 FFS! But they probably live in families who don't vote tory so fuck 'em a la Margaret Thatcher....
  3. Like the post below then: I saw that. What a load of bilge. Major was Chancellor and then 9 years as PM and attended a shitload of Treasury briefings, EU summits, G8 summits etc etc and yet you know better than he does? Yeah right. How those major investment portfolios must beat a path to your door to hear your sage counsel.... The attempts to diss Major did give me a good laugh though. In my daily paper at the bottom of a page was: "Johnson hits back at 'moaning and droning' Major intervention The Foreign Secretary insisted the UK will be able to strike a "fantastic" deal with the EU. He said there was no reason why talks should not progress at "full tilt" to secure a trade deal alongside the divorce agreement during the two year countdown etc etc" At the top of the same page was: "Brexit: David Davis urges Cabinet to draw up back-up plans for UK leaving EU without fresh trade deal Cabinet ministers have been told to draw up rearguard plans in case Britain crashes out of the EU with no fresh trade deal. Brexit Secretary David Davis has urged his colleagues to prepare for what critics have dubbed the doomsday “cliff edge” prospect of leaving on World Trade Organisation (WTO) terms – and hefty tariffs." And sandwiched between them was this snippet: Charlotte Hogg, the Bank of Englands new Deputy Governor told MP's yesterday that "Brexit uncertainty still posed a medium and long-term economic risk." she added "We are still uncertain about the effects...." (their bolding) If they wanted to give the impression that they are floundering around imho they have succeeded beyond their wildest expectations... Edit : woody2 grammar
  4. My my. One of the best attempts at an insult I've ever seen on here. Did you have to run it past your svengali first by chance? So tell me, how do you tell it's not my sense of humour, irony etc etc and one I'm trying to copy from that august organ Private Eye? Let me help you here. A charge frequently levelled at PE is that it is "Public School" humour. Good luck with that one.... So let's see here. If you believed all the nonsense spouted by the likes of Farage, Gove, Johnson, The Daily Wail etc etc and then you went and voted for a lower standard of living then as far as I'm concerned you're a complete and utter moron who shouldn't be allowed out unless accompanied by an adult. Cornwall is a good case in point. They currently get £60m pa in grants from the EU. This will be lost on Brexit. The other day one of their councillors was whining that central government is only going to grant them £18m over three years (iirc). Cornwall voted Brexit. Well here's an idea to get hold of doombrain, don't bite the hand that feeds you! I for one would be very upset if my (lowered) VAT payments went to prop up some self-harming west country knuckle-draggers. 5. What part of the word "intangible" is it that you don't understand...?
  6. I see John Major decided to add a touch of realism to the status quo: "Theresa Mays government must avoid souring the article 50 negotiations with cheap rhetoric and give voters an honest warning about the risks of Brexit" "I have watched with growing concern as the British people have been led to expect a future that seems to be unreal and over-optimistic, Major said, speaking at the Chatham House thinktank. Obstacles are brushed aside as of no consequence, whilst opportunities are inflated beyond any reasonable expectation of delivery." Of course, all the pro-Brexit chinless wonders in his tory party immediately piled in with all their usual nonsense. But Major has a courage that belies his rep. I mean, a dalliance with Edwina Curry - Respect! Face it, courage never goes out of fashion. Mind you, had you looked at a newsstand this am you would hardly have known he had said anything. The Daily Wail, The Excess, The Torygraph, The Phew What A Stunna! etc etc all played it down when at one time they would have lauded his every word to the Heavens. Such is the fickleness of the most right-wing press in Europe. Worth a read. 7. With their mangling of the language and the seemingly spurious way they just lob in anti-EU so-called facts I'm convinced that woody2 is just some stupid kid. You're right of course. You can't have a debate or even a sensible adult conversation with their ilk so putting them on "ignore" can only enhance your MF experience. Which, of course, I will be doing next....
  8. waffle do fuck off tard.... Preserved for posterity.... I guess that means you can't think of anything either myself or someone like mojomonkey has lost. already pointed it out, clearly you can't read.... I must have forgotten so please just spell it out again. Thanks. Oh sorry. Try and explain what it is. Ta.
  9. waffle do fuck off tard.... Preserved for posterity.... I guess that means you can't think of anything either myself or someone like mojomonkey has lost.
  10. Based on me losing what exactly? Like I posted previously is English your first language? Because I could understand your problems if it was not.
  11. Random, never said he did and your comment has nothing to do with mine and Tarne's posts. You're obsession with me is sweet though, hope you have a nice relaxing Sunday. i never quoted you ffs, paranoid c%*tYours was the first post after mine and didn't quote anyone so seemed logical to assume it was a direct response, at least that's how forums generally work. Anyhow, calm down sweety, all this random anger can't be doing your blood pressure much good. well jackcarter worked it out, your a typical libtard, thick as pigshit Errrr excuse me but I have first dibs on that expression. Serious question, is English actually your first language? It's just that your grammar and so forth are so appalling I'm beginning to think that it's not. After all, there's the old adage that there is absolutely no point in having anything worthwhile to say unless you are able to communicate with your audience.
  12. What else do you expect from xenophobic thick as pigshit Daily Wail reading Little Englanders?
  13. I just thought you might be up for a punt (sorry) that the EU will still be around when the UK is forced into an ignominious and economically damaging exit. Don't get me wrong. Of course I want everything in the UK garden to be rosy. It's where we live FFS! I just don't see it happening.
  14. BS. They might have had a chance before the xenophobic thick as pigshit Daily Wail reading Little Englanders voted in the referendum. But now they're doomed to the inevitable. Anyone who has been made redundant will hope not. But frankly I don't see any other outcome. Who do you want to hold your £20? I would probably agree to anyone but quilp. Do you think the lovely Mrs Bees would be stakeholder? Let's just hope the PSA deal doesn't go ahead.
  15. In the short term, sure, and maybe more in the coming year or so but don't forget that all we are getting at the moment is downside. There are no future benefits yet being priced in to the exchange rates. Also remember that the euro is only defying gravity with massive intervention. In reality it is a basket case that must ultimately fail so it will decline before that happens. Pure guesswork. None of which will help the folks working for GM. A sign of things to come methinks....
  16. Mostly I agree. Yesterday the missus bought a new car. Another Beetle Cab complete with Gerbera. Dear me! Sure it's just a Golf with pretty bodywork. Made on the cheep in Brazil BUT it has to be imported to the Fatherland prior to being shipped to the UK. Errrr why? With Brexit looming we thought it was the right decision to make now. Thanks for forcing our hand you idiots! I do not agree with your take on GM Ellesmere / Luton. With them having to source more and more components from elsewhere the manufacturing costs were rising. Eventually they would probably be no longer economically viable. However it's a fact of life that Brexit has almost certainly sounded the death knell. Markets hate uncertainty. Well guess what...? Sure follow the money has always been a wise move. Unfortunately if the money ups sticks and moves from the UK back into the EU then we are really really fucked. Anyone can pontificate on that one pretty much forever. Time will tell all. So imho guesswork prior to Brexit is just so much hot air. But the UK imports so much there's no prize for guessing that stuff is going to get more expensive.....
  17. The master of the obvious. When you're importing a lot of stuff with a weak pound the end product is NOT cheaper to produce. I would be amazed if there were no tariffs pour encourage les autres. Serious question and this time I'm not baiting you: do you think that the current government will be able to agree free movement of labour in return for free movement of goods and services?
  18. Errrr..... Excuse me but less of the "big" if you don't mind...! Well here in Reality Land there was a possibility that the whole group would remain intact because thanks to good investments the Ellesmere Port and Luton sites are quite efficient. It's not helped by UK manufacturing being in decline so more components have to be imported but as you posted previously the end product was just about competitive. Thanks to the xenophobic thick as pigshit Daily Wail reading Little Englanders however that competitive edge will almost certainly be lost due to the extremely high chance of import/export tariffs tipping the balance against them. As anyone who has been made redundant will know the closure of the plants should be the last thing anyone wants. Unfortunately though it looks like the shape of things to come post Brexit.
