  1. If you're thick vote Brexit: "The level of education had a higher correlation with the voting pattern than any other major demographic measure from the census" Well, who would have thought it? From the appallingly left-wing BBC: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-38762034
  2. Nonsense He writes nonsense? Then I'm missing nothing. If I did read him, I'd tell you. Why wouldn't I? Sorry. I had a Boredom moment. You must be a carrier......
  3. Yes, but not to embroider with their own prejudice. Have you told Paul Dacre that? Never read him so I can't comment. Like you don't know that Paul Dacre is a rabid somewhere to the right of Genghis Khan Daily Wail editing lifelong Eurosceptic....? Yeah, right. Keep polishing those teflon shoulders Woolley, it keeps them at maximum efficiency....
  4. Yes, but not to embroider with their own prejudice. Have you told Paul Dacre that?
  5. They already have them actually. Commonly if you are elderly and break something that affects your mobility (and I don't mean things like zimmer frames here) when you no longer need medical care you are discharged into a rehab home for intensive physio and so forth. The one I ended up visiting in had lots of dementia patients who had been discharged from hospital but couldn't look after themselves and had been disowned by their relatives ie nowhere else to go.
  6. I put it down to them robbing Peter to pay Paul. Instead of properly funding them both they have been taking monies from Social Services and putting it into the NHS. Hence the arrivals in A&E of severely malnourished and probably vulnerable people. Not the best thought-out strategy one could argue. But the emergency cases probably don't vote tory so fuck 'em a la Margaret Thatcher.... Which makes this scandal an even bigger disgrace: "NHS failing to recover unpaid bills from overseas patients due to 'chaotic' system, say MPs" Some £500m pa apparently. From the appallingly left-wing Independent: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/nhs-failing-recover-unpaid-bills-overseas-patients-mps-report-a7556156.html
  7. Errrr they admit that the UN data is suspect due to the way the different countries collate the data - as I have already pointed out. Please post up how the ONS figures were trashed because I'm interested in this. Sure they are from 2014 and have probably got some projections built in but I would still like to see the facts you have, thanks.
  8. ons also say they are estimates Errr excuse me but you are quoting out of context, I trust accidentally. You have picked up on, under the title: "UK migrants living in other EU nations" < Graph > "The figure of just under 1.2 million UK nationals living in the rest of the EU comes from the United Nations. These are the best statistics available, although they are not perfect, with some countries counting international migrants by birthplace while others judge by the passport someone holds." In other words the "not perfect" stats are gathered up by the UN from the various EU countries who, unfortunately, measure them differently. Nothing whatever to do with the ONS and why would they gather stats about other countries anyway? If the UK are paying out "100's of millions per year for treatment abroad" then you surely have some figures somewhere? You are right we do not know the amounts of tax and NI they are paying. But as long as they ARE paying it then the amount it comes to is something of an irrelevance. Because it will be on exactly the same scale as a UK citizen and that's all that matters. This is what annoys me about the xenophobic thick as pigshit Daily Wail reading Little Englanders. They spout off this bile about how EU migrants are causing our infrastructure to creak and all the other ills they can dream up and like woody2 they have absolutely no data to back it up. It's all anecdotal bollocks. So clearly anecdotal bollocks is enough to get us out of the EU. But we already knew that.... And before the usual suspects start piling in with all their usual rhetoric a really awful statistic has recently come to light. Bearing in mind we are a G7 nation and we have food banks, which is bad enough, since the Coalition Government came to power emergency admissions to A&E for severe malnutrition have risen by over 60%. RISEN BY OVER SIXTY FUCKING PERCENT! FOR SEVERE MALNUTRITION! Absolutely shameful. Bastards!
  9. Well, that figure is according to the ONS as published by the appallingly left-wing BBC - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-uk-leaves-the-eu-36745584 Are you saying that the ONS just made up the numbers? Ahhhh, now I get you. There are no records as to how much they are costing the UK infrastructure by way of health, education and so forth. Fair play. But why would there be? If you're an EU citizen that's all that's required. Face it, the NHS are bloody useless at charging non-EU nationals as it is without expecting them to keep a tally of EU citizens for no other purpose than stats to feed the facile arguments of xenophobic nutters. Anyway, if they are paying tax and NI, which they will be, why shouldn't they have access to the services they are funding?
  10. Well, that's certainly an option. But, of course, there are other options as well. Time will tell.
  11. "as the uk cannot collect data on the impact of eu citizens on the uk due to eu rules, i call bullshit" - I haven't the faintest idea what this means? So how do you think the UK will fare if the 2.1 million EU citizens working in the UK go elsewhere? After all, it's only about 7% of the workforce.
  12. I know the numbers. However the vast majority of EU citizens in the UK are living and working here. You know, making a contribution. If they have to leave, how do you think the UK will fare without them? Still, I'm sure all the intellectual heavyweights who voted Brexit have already thought that one through.
  13. Spot on. If the Spanish Authorities start to make life difficult for the 70,000 UK pensioners living in Spain then the UK can crack down on the 62 Spanish pensioners living in the UK. That'll learn them....
  14. Total CAP is about €58 bn - 40% of the EU budget. The UK pays in €6 bn and gets back €3 bn in direct subsidies. However they also get grants for rural development etc. of about €5 bn for spend between 2014 and 2020. Let's hope they haven't been idle! As it's The Greater French Empire with really inefficient farming the paysan get about €9 bn a year. The Dutch must be so pissed off with that....
  15. All true. Sure UK farmers will no longer have to go along with EU regulations. Well, they will if they want to trade with them. However Brexit also means no more EU farming subsidies. It's going to be a right horlicks. Currently let's say it takes 30p to produce a litre of milk. With their stranglehold the supermarkets only pay 23p for it. The rest is made up by subsidies. Now the gov could continue to pay the lost EU subs but I for one am against giving rich landowners my tax dollars to do fuck all. Go figure...
  16. I have to say the PM set off for Washington with what I would describe as "unseemly haste" and then straight to Turkey seems to give off an air of almost desperation. Sure every trading nation on the planet knows that the UK needs as many new trading partners as it can get. But running around like a wet hen is probably not the way to get the best deal. Mind you, the appallingly left-wing Grauniad today published the analysis of the Centre for Cities think tank. Their central tenet was that May would be better advised prioritising reaching agreement with the EU rather than new trading partners. The Grauniad's communist-leaning article : https://www.theguardian.com/business/2017/jan/30/eu-main-export-market-for-most-uk-cities-says-thinktank
  17. Just seen a picture of May holding hands with Trump. What the fuck is she thinking of ???!!! IMHO she should be immediately removed from office. The position of Prime Minister of the UK comes with a certain gravitas that should be maintained at ALL times. Sacking her for this also sends EXACTLY the right message to the likes of Trump. The world's going nuts...
  18. Pity they didn't try harder to gain entry...
  19. The Francis Frith Collection has 71 photos of Victorian/Edwardian Port Erin. And as far as I can see the breakwater wasn't of a particularly large construction. Pt Erin breakwater lasted just five years iirc. When you see the size of the blocks the sea threw around you start to appreciate the forces involved in such an enterprise.
  20. Tsk tsk. You of all people know it doesn't work like that! They ALWAYS pay through the nose for the most expensive "consultation" available so that when it goes tits-up (in financial terms pretty much a certainty on the dire track record of the last decade or so) they can deny any blame because "We took the best advice available. It must have been the best because it was the most expensive!" etc etc. It was ever thus....
  21. to piss off ms krankie? its no big affect if he doesn't do a deal with the uk but it would be nice. germany needs the us markets Ms Krankie? Do you mean Nicola Sturgeon? If so, I doubt Trump could care less about her. Germany does export more to the US than the UK in simple financial terms but the US is the UK's biggest export market - http://atlas.media.mit.edu/en/profile/country/gbr/ . If Trump wants to be a protectionist the fallout could be significant. Surely you'd agree that the UK needs its existing biggest export market? Errrrrr excuse me but the three EU countries mentioned in total import twice as many UK widgets than the US does. That sites not put together by Gove and Johnson is it...?
  22. You forgot how thick they are! My appallingly left-wing Grauniad is reporting an immediate bill from the EU of some £50bn to cover UK liabilities that have to be paid on Brexit. So it begins....
  23. Made me smile from the usually dour businessmen of the European Powerhouse: "When the audience was asked how many of them welcomed Brexit, only one hand went up - and it turned out that belonged to a businessman who wanted more EU reform and was fed up with Britain slowing things down." From a Brexit seminar in Berlin as reported by the appallingly left-wing BBC. Worth a read : http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-38707997
