This is a good point it's hard to do and wont stop 100% of gun crime so it's probably not worth doing anything at all. While we're at it almost all crimes still happen to some degree so we should probably just get rid of all laws because they don't stop 100% of crime, then at least we can save money not having a legal system.

I'd have said get an iphone/ipad myself but since ios6 the app store has been pretty much unusable. Ermmmmm. Get a Nokia 3210 and a Sega Game Gear instead. I'd be interested to know in what way it is unusable? I'm stuck on iOS 5 on a first gen iPad so cant test, but was planning on getting an iPhone 5 as a result of Google pissing around and this could sway me to WP8. I've not heard anyone else have issues with the store either. As for a VPN, I could with ease but why the hell should I? I want my tech to work, not to have to dick around bypassing arbitrary restrictions. The Amazon appstore might not be restricted but the app selection last time I used it was dire in comparison to the proper one, and the store its self was barely functional.

Roll a new toon?

I've given up WoW for the time being. Too many books to read. But when I get back in I will roll on to Frostwhisper. This time I will roll a tank and stick with it.

0 No accidents of any kind. Its less about abandoning workers rights and more about having workers who actually work and decent logistics and planning, it may have gone up in 6 days on site but there will have been weeks if not months of planning to make sure it went smoothly.

Not yet, I was wanting to get a few levels under my belt before joining, seemed silly asking if I was going to bin the toon off after a few lvls. Will probably be on tonight so will see if there is anyone around.

kk I went with a Human pally, with mining and blacksmithing. Although I'm not sure if I will stick with it, as I think I prefer hunters, might see how it goes until Cata as hunters will get their pets at lvl1 rather than 10.

Ok I am now 30 days in to a proper character and think I am hooked for the time being. I will roll a new toon on Frostwisper tonight I think and come join you. Is there any way to send gold cross realm? My main is on Talnivarr with a few hundred gold, not a massive amount but a hundred or so would make the low levels that little bit easier.

Just had a thought on the WoW accounts now I'm playing and know alittle more how they work. Would it be easier to provide Battle.net accounts? That way you can add all toons at once? also can be used for Starcraft 2?

Just started another 10day trial this time with an actual desire to play rather than my previous attempts that were just to see what the fuss is. Not very far in as only a lvl11 hunter, thinking of picking up a 60day card and seeing how much I actually play. I may roll a new toon on Frostwisper once I know if I'm gonna stick around.

A few films the last week or so. Alice in Wonderland: Second time I have watched it and I found it to be a much better film with out all the 2D gimmickery going on, still a pretty poor film and one of the poorer tellings of the story. Hot Tub Time Machine: Entertaining in a switch off kind of way, pretty much what you expect from a dumb comedy. Kick Ass: A very good, well paced film, interesting idea well scripted characters generally a cut above the average film. Looking forward to the sequeal although it will be interesting to see if it is possible to make as much of a success now that the premise has already been used. Serenity: As a stand alone film probably not great, very little character building or development does a decent enough job of introducing everyone though, Jayne likes guns, Kally fixes things, Wash flys the ship, Rivers mental ect. Although as an end to Firefly it was pretty good, would have been nice to find out more about Shepherd Book's back story. Solomon Kain: Umm yeah, probably not worth it. Very dull, poor characters, not great acting, bland fight scenes. Terminator 3: The less said about that the better, it is so bad.

Preston is the arsehole of the universe, especially the New Hall Lane area, UCLAN is a decent uni shame about the location. The IOM college use to be affiliated with it for all the degree courses but now its done through JMU, which is a shame as they then lost the architecture course. Not sure how this relates the Manx nationalism, in the same way I don't understand why so many non-manx people are joining the Mannin aboo facebook page, or why they have an Albanian officer, or an officer that is an Irish Nationalist., or why their main form of spreading the word is an american website?

But as has been said many times before LDV self respect doesn't pay the bills, if some one is unwilling to contribute to society, and lets be honest those doing menial jobs contribute more to the running of our society than the high flying business men, then why should society contribute to them? If people have pride and self worth then working any job to the best of their ability is better than sitting watching Jeremy Kyle living on state benefits, and anyone who thinks that that is a better existence than a proper job does not deserve to be supported. If the menial jobs don't pay enough for people to live on then there should be financial aid of some form, but those that choose to opt out of being productive in any form should also opt out of state support.

I salute your optimism Cambon however there really isn't a large enough population to justify multiple utility, or transport providers, as a whole the island has the population of a small city. The island has a population of around 40k less than, for example Preston, yet Preston is only supplied by one energy company (at least it was 2 years back when I was living there) My main confusion with the current upswell in Nationalism is the timing. The Nationalists are wanting the island to have more freedom and less influence, control, and dependance from the UK government, so why are they suddenly more vocal at a time that this is already happening? Why are they starting to shout (and by shout I mean pin bed sheets to fences and paint crap on the road) now, why not 2 years ago when dependance at least was much higher? The other question is how wide spread is the nationalist sentiment? are the current "protests" the actions of a small band of board kids with little understanding of how independence would effect us? I think the current methods being used would support this idea.

I think the Island is in a very precarious sweet spot at the minute. I agree that full independence would probably never work as we would as we would lose all connection with the EU, and while it is possible to apply for micro state status that would take a period of time and may never be granted. However full amalgamation in to the UK would be just as devastating to our economy. With out the ability to set our own tax rates there would be no advantage in companies being based here, in fact being based here would be a major disadvantage to the majority of companies, over heads are higher here than in the UK, gas, electric telecoms, everything. On top of that the higher salary requirements of any staff based here. For companies trading in real goods, manufacturing for example, they would have the added disadvantage of high transport costs to and from the island as they do now. Then if we look at the general population of the island, both "come overs" and "locals", they would be paying UK income tax and council tax both of which are significantly higher than here. But they will still be paying similar prices to now for all goods and services, just because we are part of the UK doesn't mean we will get UK service providers, in all likelihood we will keep the MEA, Manx Gas, Manx Telecom ect. as there would be little reason for UK utility companies to set up over here for the reasons outlined above. There would also still be the Steam Packet to deal with, but they will have less income due to the reduction in freight services, as such prices will have to rise or they will run a severally restricted service, most likely a combination of the two. So the way I see it the Government need to be very careful not to rock the boat too much. Any change in our situation will be devastating to the island and it residents.
