  1. Has anyone kept a tally of how much extra they have received on top of their budget? It must be nearing £60 million. The mental health service is severely underfunded, I don't see how this new model is going to improve the current case load. No mention of increasing resources, just moving people between waiting lists
  2. Regular visitor to jurby with a knife? I don't know what proportionate force is for someone with a knife, but we do seem to be sending out the guns with alarming frequency since the new chief came in. Maybe Gary Roberts wasn't that bad afterall
  3. That's interesting, I didn't know she was a steam railway supporter. Could this be why she's been kicking the sistra report down the road because it recommends moving to a single track and ending in Laxey?
  4. I had forgotten about the judder issue, the suppliers were over doing some testing but we haven't heard anything since.
  5. It's quite staggering how disconnected some government departments are from reality. Taxes have increased and all government service fees increased by at least 25% and we still have a whole team spending weeks virtue signalling under a globe. Did we have to pay for this to be transported and installed? I know ortsted were involved.
  6. Logistics apparently. I'm sure there was some necessary overtime involved. Too busy sitting round a church to complete the decarbonisation study apparently.
  7. How many civil servants does it take to 'manage' an art installation? According to Daphne, the WHOLE climate team spent 2 months on the Gaia installation.
  8. Are the 3 new officers recently retired officers back on contract? Hence no need to advertise and a nice double dip for those involved
  9. Did the climate team really have 10 people working on the earth art display for months? Manx radio Twitter had something about it. Absolutely shocking misuse of public funds.
  10. Was it around 400 Chinese...quite a few from Ghana, Nigeria and Kenyan. Perhaps we are recruiting for our island games marathon team?
  11. What is the actual ownership relationship here? Does DFE own the majority of shares?

    TT 2024

They are still selling the old cube stock on the boat.
  13. We will never get to the bottom of why this decision was made or where the 100 million has been spent. The usual DOI shills might suggest they have no part of the blame here, but as Robertshaw has often stated 'we sent Sunday league staff to negotiate with premier league experts' What is certain, the meddling from our govt has made everything worse. A government run ferry service would be an absolute disaster.
  14. It says that the property owner asked IEG to disconnect the mains gas, and there were gas engineers working in a trench before the explosion.
  15. Who are they paying this time? Can we expect another kpmg report copy and pasted from a different place?

    TT 2024

I suspect it's his colleagues in DFE.

Doug was touted as the financer at the start of everything. Lent the whole thing some gravitas
  18. And does the substation require upgrades for this? The mea have previously stated that the grid can't support any more renewables from home users.
  19. This does seem a part of the puzzle the the MEA are unwilling to talk about, id imagine it's all tied in with a new power station but that's a pull too bitter to swallow so we are creating the need for one first. Quite ambitious delivery targets, start work in Jan 2026 and finish September the same year. Current budget 36 million, this included building a landing stage in castletown, now this isn't required but the budget stays the same. It's already got that whiffy smell and we haven't started any work.
  20. Hmm so you don't believe any additional infrastructure is required? How is the voltage regulated? The power HAS to go back to the power station. But there's obviously a large cost associated with that which we are not being told about.
  21. How do you propose that the electricity is going to be managed and distributed?
  22. Does this mean they have abandoned the idea of using Zeppelins? Shame that was the only reason I'd have been behind this idea. Have they shown how they are getting the power from the turbines to the power station?
  23. Old Jo Cox has been very quiet since the explosion in Jersey.
  24. It has crossed my mind that the onus on the vat home survey and the many noises about budgets from government is derived from Westminster suggesting that our share is going to be reduced again.
  25. He didn't fall on his sword, he resisted resigning at every opportunity. He was minister during the Abbotswood saga, ignored the medical director during a pandemic and eventually was asked to resign by Alf. Let's not paint him as a man of honour. His arrogance contributed to the biggest ever whistleblower payout in Manx history. https://www.manxradio.com/news/isle-of-man-news/ashford-not-considering-position-following-ranson-decision/
