  1. Again i "thought" that saturday racing was ended ,wifes info so very suspect !
  2. I heard a "rumour" that the dreadful forecast for friday has the organisers considering having the senior race on thursday or no senior his year,as i said rumour !
  3. Our brightest & best leave the island because there's bog all to do here until you get into your 30s & take up cross-country cycling Little if any effort is made to harness their talents to the benefit of the nation Let's build a 'tech first' economy by investing in their training & education on or off island & get them back here to help create a better future sounds brilliant, pity we have such a bunch of wankers governing us.
  4. it may give them tossers in liverpool a little to think about with their pissing about over a berth, holyhead suits me fuck liverpool.
  5. Congratulations buddie hope you make a million,we fucking need the taxes.
  6. at the end of the day they signed up to their current contract. therefore they should have the boats serviceable or be in a position to get replacements up to the end of the contract, not years earlier and come running to government and cry they can't afford new boats unless they get a new contract early?? reason being they pay into foreign pensions with the profits. give them a new contract early and how many years short of the new contracts expiration date will they be back crying again? I heard from a reliable source the racket make around 15 - 16% profit in a service/business that usually does well to get 5% profit. sure they don't have the huge turnover of P&O but as already said the profits don't get put back into the company. for any other contractor that can't fulfil their contract in the real world they get fucked off and the whole process goes out to tender. if a company was in place that didn't have so much debt round its neck reliable boats and a decent service could be provided. Food for the numbskulls (MHK's) tiny fucking peabrains
  7. Only about £7,000,000 per year, so not too much. All going to the portuguese banksters, disgusting.
  8. Sounds about right for the crap the racket are now reduced to operating.
  9. "NOT A TAX HAVEN" says the headline,we are fucking nothing now!!!
  10. Nice guy was richard, always paid his bill, cash only.
  11. I disagree,i was in a crowd of 140,000 in the seventies,same setup as lepping,no problem.
  12. But if the families are offered and accept money, that will be seen (by many) as the aim in keeping this going for decades. The guilty (if they are) have to live with what happened too. I don't think any financial compensation should be awarded. It was never the aim was it? What this should be about is some level of accountability. The thing I found most alarming was the alteration by the Police of peoples witness statements. That is quite extraordinary. Sadly, that was a disaster waiting to happen in the mid to late 80's. If it hadn't have been Hillsborough it would have been somewhere else. You had a range of very poor quality stadiums, very little proper ticketing and crowd control, and large amounts of football fans regularly turning up to a game under the influence of alcohol. I suspect that on the day once the chain of events was set in motion (by the failure to control the large volumes of people arriving right at kick off) then it spiralled out of control very quickly. I don't think the Police deliberately set out to do a bad job but the covering up of things post incident is something that the Senior Officials should be accountable for. I remember watching it all unfold on TV. Shocking really. have you ever been in a full terraced stadium with the usual galvanised crush barriers of that era? unless you have its very difficult to understand.
  13. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/apr/27/hillsborough-public-interest-prosecuting-police-overwhelming-lord-macdonald, you bet its just the start, most of the relatives will be shoving up daisies if it EVER finishes.
  14. No problem for you and yours, yesterday the only Papers available in my Newsagents were The Sun, The Mail and The Telegraph, so the ' Important People ' on the Island would have had their DAILY RIGHT WING FIX. all is well. ! I read them all, perspective.
  15. if this commie rag says its all ok then we are in the clear!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/apr/22/isle-of-man-gibraltar-cyprus-sign-anti-corruption-code-money-laundering-tax-evasion
  16. The puppy rolls over for his master and has his tummy tickled. Not my master, but I have a lot of respect for Phil Gawne. A man who has done more for his detractors than they will ever understand. I'm quite taken aback by the poisonous, vile names PG is being called on here, more so by posters I used to have high opinions of and are clever enough to know better. Many say this island is f****d and if it is it's because of the lowering mentality of a growing number of people who can't take responsibility for themselves and blame every single thing that happens on some government body or MHK/MLC. ( or Civil Servants ) There are intelligent posters now posting the same shit that the likes of TJ did and he got slated by most and banned for posts far tamer than some of late. Crazy. Leave me of your christmas list.
  17. Now your getting the idea, why give these clowns money to fucking waste,PAY CASH,great discounts available.
  18. You mean the pay he is declaring? He was born into money, went to one of the best schools money can buy, he married into more money, he inherited (more money than he declared)... I don't think he will be worrying about paying the gas bill for a while... MUPPET.
  19. IF we're not a tax haven what the fuck are we ?
  20. I would be contracting. Assuming Corbyn hasn't cut off the internet. What about you? In many ways it would be little different from living anywhere else in these islands. It already isn't. And to be honest - a lot of people who are accountants or lawyers or any number of other professionals also employing people would be able to carry on the same but different. These skills are useful anywhere. The internet provides a lot of remote working opportunities which did not exist in 1980. I believe that finance has been good for the IOM, I see no moral issues today and I think it has been well managed - especially in recent years. The island is right to seek to ensure that the business is seen to be compliant internationally - more and more about expertise, less and less about loopholes. But let's not fall for a sort of defeatist negativism which assumes that the island could not adapt. i'd like to believe this,BUT----------------.
  21. We have survived many times before and we will survive again, no problem. Someone with ideas other than Bell and Tears will come along as they have in the past ' moving forward ' . ' Whichever way you throw us we stand ' RATS.
