    Me and Mrs Trench had an enjoyable Christmas lunch on the steam train to Castletown today. Food was fine. As was the brief sojourn in The Sidings. (FWIW).

    I’ve been using the airport as a layman for more than fifty years and delays etc definitely seem worse these days.

    We’re usually only in Ramsey to visit the hospital but we always preferred the Mad Hatter caff, and their coffee.

    I may have missed it, but is it or will it be compulsory for MU to install smart meters in our homes?

    FWIW I applied for an HSBC credit card last week, it arrived today and has been activated. I don’t bank with them but do a bit of travelling. Belt and braces if my other cards are withdrawn.

    FWIW popped into HSBC yesterday in Douglas, first time, and asked if I could obtain one of their credit cards without banking with them - answer was yes and the chap said same applies to Channel Is.

    Same with me Wrighty, but M&S sent me a letter inviting me to reapply in 6 months time, which is my intention.
