I was looking out to sea in Port Erin today, you can see how far the breakwater used to extend. Did it get built and destroyed twice? I wonder if with today's construction techniques whether it could be rebuilt strong enough to withstand the conditions down there? And if so whether they could incorporate a landing stage? It doesn't have to be in Douglas does it?

Sadly it will sold to the highest bidder who will just put some shit apartments on it because our government thinks only about money. It has this asset, as far as they're concerned its only value is a financial one. Like the post st mary train station.

Thinking about it a bit more if a developer really wanted to do something which would be of great use to everyone I'd even let them build 4 flats into it so that they could quickly some of their investment money back.

I think instead of looking to get the most money for the place they should sell it to the person/company who would get the best use out of it. If someone wants to build say, a watersports and fishing centre, with a cafe and hot showers and maybe even some hostel accommodation for scout or school groups or just travelling people in general then they should really consider virtually giving it away.

He did it in Paris last year with Mark Lanegan and Lemonjelly. i wouldn't mind at all if they were involved in this. I absolutely love those albums Lanegan did with Isobel Campbell from Belle and Sebastian.

Apparently we've moved into a 'post truth' world, whatever the fuck that is. Buzzfeed said they published the report to let Americans make their own minds up. Which is completely mental to me but I suppose completely normal to a country which fears god and loves its bible.

6music have been playing a whole pile of good stuff recently but Rattlesnake by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard stood out so I've downloaded a ton of their stuff. Fun. Lots of fun

I just watched a weird little film called 'wiener dog', which was about the dog and its succession of owners. Came to my attention via a review which described it as a black comedy in which all of the comedy had been ripped out leaving just black. I wouldnt say ALL of the comedy was gone, but it was at times pretty bleak. Very good though and well worth a watch. Nice to see danny de Vito still doing his thing.

When the former hotel on Bay View road in Port Erin went on fire a couple.of years ago it was demolished within a week.

Becauss parking in Douglas is so utterly shit I've been on the bus recently, so taking advantage of not having to concentrate I've been listening to quite a bit of stuff I've not had chance to. Today was 'mowlam dub' by Jah Wobble, another hugely enjoyable record. I've downloaded some more Nitin Sawhney too. And some Tabla Beat Science.

Gave 'beyond skin' by Nitin Sawhney a listen the other day following several pints and whatever. A super record, can't believe I've never heard it before. Gonna track down more of his stuff for sure.
