  1. Society needs a large and largely content working class. Our governments obsession with wealth ignores this.
  2. They'll probably all leave and find somewhere even shadier.
  3. The difference between him and Moorhouse was stark. People talk to Moorhouse, he constantly had a crowd.
  4. I've just been to parents evening and am pleased to report that my child is not one of the naughty ones
  5. Kirk Michael is 'Motors and Mowers'.
  6. It would definitely be cheaper and easier to build them in Jurby. The practicalities speak for themselves. But for a visual spectacle getting them up Earystane will be much more interesting. There are tons of videos of sections being taken up mad roads, it's going to be well worth a watch to see them figure that out here.
  7. People remain in complete denial about the impact of closing the schools during the pandemic. What they did there was confirm to the kids that they did not matter, that their education did not matter. People who have paid attention to those involved in disaster management might express surprise that the problem is not worse.* * See also the recent reporting around alcohol deaths.
  8. Regular beatings is the only way to stop it.
  9. He's got a plan, and he wants you to pay for it https://www.manxradio.com/news/isle-of-man-news/former-mea-chief-exec-unveils-200m-wind-farm-plans/
  10. Sadly the answer is facebook. There are about 10 local 'Buy Sell your car' groups.

Thirteen days is a long time for a jury yes. The people on that jury will likely be exempted from future duty because of it.
  12. You should go to one of them. I actually quite liked the informality of it, if i liked anything at all. Where else can I directly speak to and pass on some observations to the new(ish) CEO of DEFA and Dan Davies within minutes of each other? The Q&A bit could definitely have been handled better, Alf isn't the right man for the job of keeping those things moving along, it needed a host.
  13. I try not to be mean, but "I'd happily pay more tax" Lawrie Hooper could do with hitting the treadmill, and I'm not going to even mention the minister for DEFA. Stereotypes exist for a reason I guess.
  14. Oh its possible the other guy was there, dunno, lots of people looked the same.
  15. Alf, Barber, Caine, Crookall, Hooper, KLB and the lady from Home Affairs whose name I've forgotten were there representing the government. Maltby was also there at the DoE table. I don't know if any MLCs were there cos I don't know who they are. Glover was skulking about, and Moorhouse was holding court. He's a strangely popular man. The other two southern MHKs were nowhere to be seen.
  16. I should add, that for the apathetic Isle of Man it was actually a decent public turnout.
  17. I don't want to put people off going to the others. Maybe they'll get better at it.
  18. I don't know. It was mostly a waste of my time. They definitely arent listening though. Every public question the answer is 'the challenges facing the government'. Fucking bollocks. I probably shouldn't have gone.
  19. No. Too far. It's just a big long list of excuses
  20. I brought my own. This is a good thing.
  21. Looks busy. I'm just getting a couple of beers down me. Stand by
  22. This is today for those in the south. I'm not really in the mood. Half expecting to get kicked out
