I have highlighted elsewhere how our on-island business can no longer continue due to the mail situation. We could no longer compete. The mail plane was stopped in around October, which meant up until then, and all being well, mail delivered in Douglas up to close of business arrived in the Birmingham mail hub that late evening/night. Now it relies on the boat as well as that traie da looary thingy. Royal mail made the unilateral decision to stop the plane with little or no consultation with Isle of Man post, I understand. The Isle of Man has become a backwater again. But it will keep Royal Mail greedy shareholders happy.
