YodaYessir
Gellings foundry used to be a great shop - at least, the car parts section was! The Queen Victoria statue was kept and installed in a similar place on the MT replacement building. Looking through the previous posts in here, I guess a lot of people remembered http://www.flickr.co...ool-1629811@N23 Edited link. BTW, how do you change the link to display different text eg 'this' rather than the full link address? Great post, looks so small!

Many thanks And do you remember travelling on this ? Oooh, it works! Looks so much neater than a whole URL!

It does, but don't forget the imitation that is there now was made quite a bit wider with extra panelling at each side.

hagar the horrible
I miss the MGM... ... more so the Golden Goose, complete with bouncing floor. I have great memories of the Golden Goose, myself and a few of my mates used to go into Douglas from PE on the bus most Saturdays, although we were all only about 15 or 16 we managed to get booze in the Dogs Home than go to the Goose, they had condom machines in the bogs the brand Selka or something like that, on a couple of occasions we bought a packet of 3, filled them with water (they held a lot of water) and chucked them off the balcony onto the dance floor, I can remember 3 of the Douglas lads we got to know, Wally Bowler, Ian Presley and Graham Speed, anyone know any of these guys? all in their mid sixties now I guess. The Regal was over by the Sea Terminal in that one way street. Then there was the one on the prom, whose name escapes me at the moment. Even Onchan had a cinema on Royal Avenue One on the prom was called the Crescent Cinema

Anyone remember what that was called? Barry Nobles Sun Valley?
