Rather than ISPs advertising "up to 8MB" they should be forced to display a minimum speed too - "at least 3Mb and up to 8Mb". As customers we don't pay "up to the amount"...

How can wimanx do that, when they dont own or manage the cable to your house? I'd rather we got a 'best effort' product than something that's capped deliberately low to meet everyones expectation.

That manx net test gave me

Upload Speed: 713 kbps (89.1 KB/sec transfer rate

Nice one. I spoke with my ISP yesterday who said that they will be sending out letters to all their subscribers detailing the upgrade. When I queried how much it would be he told me it is £40 to switch it over, but that my monthly payments would remain the same.
