Must admit, I had heard from someone who knows the family that Michael Shields would be the last person to go out partying, or even having a drink, so I was leaning towards the "is innocent" brigade, so I was very surprised that Jack Straw's review of the evidence seems to indicate that he's not as innocent as those who shout the loudest would lead us to believe.... And then a few days later his solicitor made a statement saying that he had done it but wouldn't return to face trial in Bulgaria. He later changed his mind and said that he hadn't done it after all.
