TT Road Watch 2015

Recommended Posts

For anyone heading home after work this afternoon / evening and expecting the mountain to be open...

Good afternoon Isle of Man

The Mountain Road will remain closed this aftrenoon following two RTC's caused partly due to by high winds. It makes sense for us to keep the road closed and give us enough time to prepare for this evenings practice and not delay the start (should another incident happen).

thankyou

Sergeant Gary Heaton Force Incident Manager

Another one:

http://www.iomtoday.co.im/news/isle-of-man-news/german-visitor-killed-following-crash-near-jurby-1-7292686

A German biker visiting the Isle of Man for the TT was killed last night after a crash on on the Ballaugh to Jurby coast road.

The incident happened at around 9.50pm, when the motorcycle the 52-year-old man was riding was in collision with a car being driven by a local man.

The road was closed for several hours while investigations took place.

Police are appealing for anyone not spoken to at the scene who may be able to help with their investigation to get in touch.

If you can help, call headquarters on 631212.

Quite surprised by the ages involved. Obviously we don't know the details, but usually older bikers are bit less bold.

Yet frailer and unable to react as quickly as younger riders.

Oddities are just that, oddities. I know plenty of 87 year olds who shouldn't be allowed to operate a television remote, let alone a bike travelling over 120mph.

Most days of the week I see ' local ' car drivers, aged 25 - 50 ? who believe they are untouchable. Sadly many of those involved in accidents with same always seem to come of worst. Most of the driving I saw during TT involving ' local ' number plates was appalling .

Cronk y Voddy for the first 'diesel spill'

This has been going on long enough. Every Road Race meeting over the last several years is greeted with early morning ( in most cases ) oil spillages. This is a remarkable situation if all these spills are accidental, and do the Police ever find the offending drivers / vehicles, and if so what happens. If any of these spills are intentional, then it is nothing short of an attempt to cause serious injury to presumably bikers, and should carry appropriate punishment. It could be your or my car with children on board that comes across one of these spills before they are discovered by the authorities with results to awful to think about. They may all be accidental, but every TT / MGP and even S100 they definitely become more common.
