Walked along the prom this morning and saw all this for the first time ,Dozens of old bikes some complete some with parts missing chained to every post along the Queens prom into central prom area . Total disgrace whatever it is meant to be. Either some hooligans have vandalised the area or somebody in some sort of public position thinks it is smart . Either way it need being cleared , If someone thinks it is some sort of art then I think they are totally mad ,Goodness knows the prom is such a total mess anyway its as if they have competitions to see how much more ridiculous they can make it . Two-lane Posted May 18, 2023 Share Posted May 18, 2023 My recollection of Longworth's statement that horse trams do not cause the hold-up came from looking at the data from the buses - the time they took to transit the prom. This is an unrealistic comparison because buses stop at bus stops. So if a bus comes up behind a tram, it will soon stop at a bus stop. Meanwhile, the horse tram disappears off into the distance. By the time the bus gets going again, it will not catch up with the horse tram again so its transit time is unaffected by the trams. Well, that's my analysis.
