Traffic lights "again" at the Ballabeg Hump ?

I was supposed to do two things; slow traffic through Ballabeg and improve visibility for those people trying to get out of Friary Park. Now, firstly traffic can't really drive through there that fast anyway because there are always cars parked on one side and the road is fairly narrow; and to improve sightlines they could have either cleaned the mirrors on the wall of the barn opposite or just put bigger and better ones up. I'm not a roads management expert working for the government on £60000 a year though, so my suggestions are probably useless.

So why have they changed the exit form Friary Park, from a Stop sign, to a Give way sign, isn`t that defeating the object a bit ?

What is the point of it?

Some time ago, The Island found itself with a rather large quantity of Tarmac left over from absolutely essential remedial works to the Sloc.

Not wanting to be seen to be wasteful, DOI came up with the idea of RTSU's (Reserve Tarmac Storage Units) - these units permit the discreet storage of RT by the simple expedient of raising the road by only a few feet (with gentle up/down ramps) but, due to the fact that there are so many of them, vast quantities of RT can be stored all over the Island.

The beauty of the plan is that the RTSU's are both re-heatable and reusable - so it is entirely feasible to dig up two RTSU's in parallel, simply swap over the Tarmac between the two sites, employ consultants, planners and groundworks staff of a permanent basis whilst boosting GDP. Everyones a winner DaDa!

The Mega RTSU (MRTSU) located at Richmond Hill is being prepared as we speak and is due to come on stream summer 2019 thereby providing sufficient reserves to connect to the Mersey Gateway and thence HS2 at Crewe.

This is one of those occasions where I am torn between thinking "What splendid satire!" and "FFS don't give them ideas!!".

Trouble is, they put him in a position where he could arguably have wider influence...fortunately, media/publicity shows him up for what he is.
