I don't think he will. I think he'll be needing an even bigger waistcoat to fit over all that tea and cake he'll be offered - or at the very least move the buttons FFS.

They love him you know.  The GMP.  And this is why the public should never ever be given the right to vote for CM.

(should really be in Tynwald 2021 thread)

On the matter of waistcoats, walking down from the hill this was one spotted on Tynwald Day.

There comes a day when most of us, for sure, have to admit that we need a size or two bigger clothing. I think in this case that particular boat sailed a long time ago.

But we're not.

Anyway, believe me, it could be a lot worse.

You're right of course and I apologise for any offence caused directly or on behalf of anyone else.

I would point out however, that this is not a shy teenage girl struggling with the onset of puppy fat or something. But someone who was only minutes before presented to Princess Anne on the top of the hill. The chap is able to revel in his stature for sure and I admire his confidence.

That's brutal - but a good read nonetheless.

TBH I don't think that's particularly brutal Roxanne. It's bang on the money.

Whoever told him those trousers were a great fit needs a good kicking too.

Ashford putting up Nursing Home fees next week in Tynwald.

"If approved by Tynwald, the Regulations will increase the weekly charge for residing in a nursing home from £882.63 to £909.23. In addition, the weekly charge for being absent from a nursing home for 6 weeks or less is increased from £722.40 to £727.37.

The increased charges will come in to operation on 1 August 2021."

Not a popular move I would suggest with relatives.

What does absent from a nursing home mean? In hospital?

Past the guard tower, avoid the searchlight beams, dodge the Alsatians and the Bloodhounds, through the wire…and away!
