Gary Lineker will just become another has-been and dissappear into history.

A bit like Angus Deyton.

Unless he stands for parliament in 2024.

So... people shouldn't call out horrific actions by their own Government? With respect, horseshit.

...who gives up £1.5m a year just for a rant?

Dick.

He potentially might have given up £1.5 million to stand up for people more unfortunate.

I thought for a moderator, you might want to use some other word than Dick for that type of scenario.

He's basically said the tories are 1930s nazis. Point is he works for an 'independent ' organisation so he either pulls out and be's himself or shuts up.

Up to him...

Tsk tsk.

Gina Miller twice took the gov to court.

And won.

Google Gina Miller Article 50 and Gina Miller proroguing parliament.

Google Carole Cadwalladr Aaron Banks Russian electoral interference

They demonstrated how individuals can make a difference against a corrupt government like the UK's.

So you don't know who they are.

Yeah, right...

Moderators are only responsible for people following the MF rules and T&Cs...still allowed our own opinions.

Yes he has...why bring 30s Germany into it otherwise?

Why are we arguing over what he said when it's in black and white? "immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 30s".

Because...That doesn't mean the tories are nazi thinking.

Pardon? It means what it says. The Govt is using language to demonize refugees which is not dissimilar to the language used by the 1930s German Govt to demonize Jewish people. And he's not wrong. I wouldn't have used the words he used, mind, as it just leads to pointless distracting arguments over where exactly the threshold for "close enough to the behaviour of 1930s Germany" is to be allowed to describe it as "like 1930s Germany" instead of talk about how to actually improve anything, but here we are.

Freedom of speech only applies, if it is in aid of the right wing cause.

Asylum seekers are the sort of dark skinned types. So let them rot.

Yet the same people would go and watch Schindler's List and mutter to themselves. If the situation arose, I'll act just like he did. Knowing in reality, they will never have the balls for the fight and capitulate.

I rather liked Albert Tatlock in Coronation Street. It pains me that his image is used by someone with dickish views.

Apparently it was OK for Clarkson, when he was on Top Gear on BBC to write, and have put into print, in MSM, all sorts of unpalatable, incoherent, views. But that was OK, he was a laddish, reactionary, right wing journo.

Here was me thinking it was the "lefties" who "cancelled" people yet here we have people who would probably describe themselves as centrists or slightly on the right driving this.

The best part is they can't really scream "champagne socialist" because he is standing by his beliefs and potentially forfeiting the money.

Now even the commentators and players are going to boycott MOTD.

That would be Angus Deayton who was accused of having sex with prostitutes and taking cocaine?

Perfect comparison and totally relevant.  Why not throw in Jimmy Saville as well?
