Gladys
https://www.manxradio.com/news/isle-of-man-news/teens-family-could-see-island-community-come-together-for-manx-diy-sos/ What a sad story, hindered by planning. I am sure the Manx community will get behind this family, and perhaps planning could expedite approval in some way? They can't show favourable treatment or bend rules, I know, but can't they be compassionate and do all they can to get the necessary permission asap?
2112
Bending the rules? IOMG do that constantly if your face it, or are part of the establishment. Compassion? Hopefully but it’s in short supply. Bureaucracy there is plenty of as well.
Gladys
Actually looking at the planning application, it looks like planning are trying to resolve the matter with some suggested amendments to the plans submitted. The application is still showing as pending, so perhaps they are doing all they can.

Nice try, Gladys - but that doesn’t fit the traditional MF narrative. 2

Planning has always been a monkey on a rope of the Establishment. It's sad that this family are having to learn that lesson through bitter experience. They're by no means the first. 1

Read the planning file. The application is pending consideration and some suggestions have been made to address concerns. There are four and only one relates to the flat roof. They haven't been refused, yet.
Passing Time
Looks like planning isn’t the issue. They are trying to get the work done at someone else’s expense. Or am I reading it wrong?

We definitely need any help we can get, but have to get over planning hurdle first.
