Book it online as a high vehicle and tell them that you are going to collect your own stuff

You have to book a van by telephone (661661). Just tell them the truth and you won't be charged any more than the car rate. They might want a look in the back before boarding. 7 hours ago, Anyone said: Tell them as little as you can get away with. What dumb advice. Except it isn't dumb ass - if you are not using the van commercially you can book as a high car. Lots of people take vans away to buy bits of furniture etc and all with the blessing of the SP. However, if you are found to have tradesmen's gear in the van upon inspection you will be charged commercial rates 1

They might refuse boarding. Only an idiot would do it your way.

darenisepic
The restriction is up to 2.1 mtr and below 6mtr in length I think and if it has windows in it's the same rate as a car and has to be booked by phone
woolley
That's it then, Albert. Put some windows in it.

Bombay Bad Boy
Once borrowed a friend's Espace (with the seats removed) to move house. Booked as a car, no-one cared.

Passing Time
I regularly book my van online as a car and only ever challenged once, told them it was not hauling freight, they did a quick check then on my way
