another illuminating report. especially about the beach landing being the most viable option. wonder why that changed so radically?
"The delivery of 5 x 4.2MW turbines to Earystane is possible via a barge and beach landing at
Castletown Beach. Other routes examined are not believed to be feasible at this stage"

"Access from Douglas Port is currently restricted by roundabouts at Ballasalla. However, the Transport
team note that on completion of the bypass at Ballasalla, this constraint may be removed which would
enable 5MW turbines to be delivered to the site without construction of a beach landing ramp. This
would further reduce the costs of development at this site and remove all requirement to utilise
Rushen Primary School grounds as the specialist delivery vehicles for a turbine of this scale would
have advanced capabilities for negotiating tight corners. It would also substantially reduce the risk
of limitations that may arise from cultural heritage surveys under Phase 2 of the project"
