  1. The quote from the Telegraph indicates that M&S reduced the percentage over that period, but Tesco reduced their meat content in 2019.
  2. Of course the director referred to it 'in the now' because that is the meat content currently applied. Of course it is relevant know what is happening to my food, the information is there on the packet. Is this really a revelation? Out of interest, I have just checked the pork content of Andrea's Meat Co Manx Dragon sausages. The ingredient list states that the pork content is at least 66%, but I buy them because I like them. I am not having a pop at you at all, just disagreeing that a statement without context is something of concern to me as a consumer.
  3. When you say 'now' it implies it is recent and a logical presumption is then that recent inflationary pressures have resulted in the reduction. But the reduction happened in 2019, so not a new change and one that seems to have been accepted by customers for 5 years, or thereabouts. What is the context of the submission last Tuesday?
  4. "They've had a hell of a time."
  5. The Beatles' track is one of their best IMHO. Other than that, meh.
  6. More like a call to alms.
  7. Fabulous history, thank you. Often wondered where the name for the Dogs Home came from - had assumed the dogs was really a reference to the reprobates who frequented it!
  8. No, that she had a wonderful conversation with the new owner who said a pub was no longer precluded, but then she wonders if there is any tenant willing and able to open as a pub. It really is a stretch to say she is in favour of a pub, rather than pleased that the options are not limited and it could be returned to its former purpose. Don't understand the mouth frothing really.

Yes, a director, even a sole director, can be secretary too. However, they cannot sign a document in both capacities. UK companies don't have to have a secretary. Also, you have to have sufficient directors to make a quorum for decisions and meetings. Under the model articles, the quorum is 2. So unless you have a different provision for a quorum, a company with standard articles cannot in fact function with one director. Is it legal to use two different styles of name for the same person? Probably not illegal, but possibly an oversight as the actual residential address and full date of birth has to be registered with Co House even though those details are not public. Co House wouldn't necessarily pick that anomaly up. There is new legislation in the UK to tighten up on the accuracy of information filed and improve their powers to make sure the info is accurate.

I do agree that there should be provision at the places you list. However, just have a look at the actual price of sanitary products, particularly supermarket own brand. £150 pa implies a cost of more than £10 a month based on a 13 four week cycle. ETA Tesco own brand super tampons, 24 pack £1.10, they do sanitary pads too at 45p for 10, including night pads which cope with a heavier flow.
  11. Thanks for that, always thought the name came from overhanging gutters, not fish guts.
  12. Probably about right given the UK multiples shown. Didn't know we had a Ratners here and they went in the early 90s.
  13. Saw that on FB, would be good to know a date. Dogs Home still there, but also looks like the Strand Centre was also there.
  14. Two Lanes' summary suggests it is a change of 2 to 5 in the 50k to 75k band, so possibly salary increases pushed a couple over the 50k?
  15. Greek and Roman influence I think. Making a statement and reference to great early imperial civilisations at a time when empire was good. Often heard reference to fibre glass chimney stacks and looked put for them, but haven't actually spotted any. PS agree with your gist though, buildings should be of their time not 'mock', and should enhance and be proportionate to their environment. I also have no issue with old design features being incorporated, again not pretending to be of another era, but using what is aesthetically pleasing.
  16. So we will ignore neo-classical and gothic architecture?
  17. Which is his building on Walpole Ave? Royalty House?
  18. Did you have it by general, or local anaesthetic?
  19. I don't find that too much of a monstrosity, tbh. What are monstrosities are the huge number of poorly maintained and unoccupied properties.
  20. Lots of them, Royal Skandia on Onchan Head, the new Lord Street flats, defo the Plan.com building. In fact, I can't think of any new builds in the past 25 years that could be classed as eyesores.
  21. From the part of the programme I listened to, I thought some good points were made re caving in if something is unpopular (Southern Swimming Pool), looking at the overall rather than just individual departmental budgets, so the increase in revenue from say school bus fares going up, could be achieved with less pain elsewhere and simplifying the tax system so ordinary employed people with one job need not submit a tax return, adopting the PAYE system they have in England. Didn't listen to the whole thing, but will do.
