  1. I think she moved here from Ireland when she was 9, went to school here and before lockdown returned to do her parents' place up which gave her the interior design bug.

True, it just needs a policy decision you would have thought.

Listening to the interview on MR, she is proposing to target it by having the items free in dispensers at schools and government buildings. She also mentions the 'called short' and dignity issues, which are real aspects.

Yes, an emotive subject, but nothing is free. Someone, somewhere pays. 💯% for providing period products for free, but targeted to those who cannot afford them. Not sure how you do that, but it should start in the schools.
  5. I think signage is also a requirement for UK planning, so may not be a peculiarity of the IOM. Is there anything else that would need permission? No change of use, not much structural work (apart from whatever horrors were found in Vic Rd), so perhaps it was a conscious decision to press ahead and get retrospective permission?
  6. There is one for signage at Castletown submitted in March. Is there another one?
  7. Something about toes?
  8. Any chance of a translation for the rest of us eejits?
  9. I do have a gripe with Vic Road. The trolleys all have the cradle for the scanner on the left. Although this may be a bit leftist, the majority of people are right-handed and it just feels wrong. Seems an odd design decision, really.
  10. Yes, that was what I thought.
  11. Do you know if they were given any kind of government support?
  12. Not saying it is welcome, just not a surprise given last week's news.
  13. Hardly a surprise really.
  14. Or the courts.
  15. It's a big ask, but .....
  16. BR may be though, he has a mission to inseminate half the known world.
  17. Nope, have the same on my leather sofa, trying to turn it into suede!
  18. You ever tried to lock down a cat? Scratch hell out of your doors.

    STEM

You should told all those teachers, nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, radiologists, engineers, surveyors, accountants, medical researchers, lawyers, IT specialists, programmers, cyber security specialists, historians, archaelogists, ad infinitum, that they shouldn't have bothered.

    Which do you have?
  21. With a turnover of £50, why are they even registered? How do they fulfill their charitable objectives? I know there I a great deal of voluntary work in local charities, but for £50 what is the advantage to registration?
